WTF Are These Guide Sellers thinking?

at first I thought your post said the copies were $14 for used, and I thought "yeah, what's the problem?"
then saw it was $141
Are you looking for a brand new sealed copy?
No. I'm actually trying to sell a brand new sealed copy. I just think the prices those book dealers have for a used copy are rediculous.

It's Half.com. What do you expect them to charge? Fair market price?

That's why I just get a chuckle out of the third party sellers on Amazon and Half, since they always gouge on really common shit and put 'zomg rarez' in the description.

They figure the average sucker is going to fall for it and say 'wow if this many people say it's rare it must be' and buy up one(or more).

I was actually contemplating this for a while till I kept hearing how Amazon/Half/Ebay almost always side with the buyers in disputes. I didn't feel like taking a gamble that I wouldn't get scammers saying they didn't get the item and I'd be forced to refund the swindling SOB's.

It is almost nothing compared to the amount of stuff you will sell. Out of my 1,500+ transactions last year I got scammed twice, total amount was around $50. Almost nothing considering I sold about 20k on eBay/Amazon last year.

You are more likely to get complaints on amazon than on ebay. I have not had a complaint on ebay in many years of selling on there. With amazon the buyers expect items to be perfect and you might get dinged because you packaged something in the wrong color packaging. Ebay you can also sell in lots and on amazon you cannot. Amazon requires returns and ebay allows you to set a no returns policy, which is very important to me.

You would be surprised as to how many people actually fall for it. I find that putting RARE or hard to find somewhere in my description and title helps sell my items.
