WTF? spamming on xbl?

So i get a message with the following, "i am girl 17yrs and u"
so i ask who the hell it is and why theyre messaging me as theyre not on my play history.
and i get this response, "i am girl 17yrs and i want meet new guys....how old r u???"
reminds me of the old aim bots.

anybody else have any of this going on?
 
Since it possible to send messages to your XBL pals from your browser, I'm not really surprised. As he said, let's hope it doesn't become a trend.
 
It's becoming more and more of a trend, spam on XBL. Normally I tend to get images of people wanting me to check out "THE RECONZ" or some other Halo 3 shit.

I just Block Communications and report them.

i think it was kotaku that had an article that there is some phishing going on too. next step... no messaging with silver accounts.
 
I got one today and was wondering the same thing.

The one I got said "I have MS pts generator!! MESSAGE ME FOR SOME!"

The person who sent it (I don't remember name, I insta-deleted) had 30k+ gamerscore which leads me to believe that people are having their accounts hacked.
 
I had someone promoting a website, but the message has been removed from my inbox (can't recall the site). I'm guessing MS is taking some action when these things are reported.
 
Sounds like people are getting their accounts trolled by spammers. Sucks, because blocking and reporting will hurt someone who merely visited the wrong website at the wrong time. MS seriously needs to learn how to keep their services secure.
 
Yeah, I've gotten plenty of annoying spam messages lately on xbl. I just delete it and then block the user, It was only a matter of time until the spammers got a hold of the system.

Doesn't XBL keep a tally of messages sent out? I'd hate to realize I was hacked before it's too late.

I was hacked while playing Forza 2. MS did nothing but refund my LIVE time had me start a new account. I lost all my cars and credits.

It's happened to several people I know on that game. You first will not be able to go into the auction house and it gives the error "Tampered Profile".

i had something a little different happen to me, but it made it to where i had to cut my xbox off completely. i usually have everyone not on my friends list blocked from all communications. i changed that for one night since i was playing in a search and destroy group where only person on my team was on my friends list and it was necessary to hear them. during one of the matches, i get a chat invite from a recent player from like 45 minutes before and it spams my system so many times i couldn't even hit the guide button without almost accepting a chat invite. i ended up having to cut off the xbox and change my settings back for it not to happen anymore (i had over 60 chat invites from this 1 person!).

sadly that isn't anything new at all. if you made them mad in any way, i have had about 4-5 friends have this happen to them and one that did it to someone else.
