Well, I accidentally bought Mark of the Ninja, it would seem. Meant to only try the demo. Oops. Well, I was strongly considering it anyway.
As someone who played Dust on the regular difficulty, I recommend playing the game on the hardest difficulty if you're even kinda good at games like this. Once I mastered the control system and how to rack up combos, I really regretted that I wasn't on the hardest difficulty.
Agreed. On Hard, it's only truly hard right at the beginning. Before long you'll have the combat down and even bosses won't pose too much trouble. Dust i such a wonderful and engrossing game.
Dust should be 75% off.
You always seem to complain. I see it in every thread and its annoying. If its half off you want it to be 75% off. If its on sale for $30 you cry that it should be $10. If its $10 you cry that it should be $5. Get over it and buy it or not.

On another note, I agree with others. Dust and Mark of the Ninja are great. What are peoples opinions of Deadlight?

If I remember right, during the first time it was on sale everyone complained about how Deadlight was not worth it. The combat is frustrating, the controls are sluggish, story was near non existent and the length was 3 hours or so. So I think those complaints still hold true as far as I know.

Yea Im not that interested in it to begin with. I think I will give these sales a pass. Im already really happy that Dragonborn and the RE:ORC DLC was on sale as well as the Dunwall Trials. Have some fun DLC to play now in addition to Bioshock Infinite. :D

So I know this has probably been asked, but why is AMY rated so poorly again? Just very frustrating and difficult, or is it glitchy and unplayable? The idea seems good, but I was never a fan of RE1.

Someone else can explain it better, but Amy had a ton of rough spots at release including a horrible lack of checkpoints. The developers did right and released a patch that fixed some of those rough spots. Reviews are written at release, so they wouldn't reflect the improvements made by the patch.

Mark of the Ninja is a steal at 600 MSP ($7.50)! You will not regret your mistake. I just bought it off XBLA because the price was too good to pass up! :bouncy:

Yeah, kinda what I figured, but let me tell you, that was the most surprising achievement I have ever gotten.

I Think the fact the game was one giant escort mission was enough as it is, but the fact that the little girl you're protecting is a goddamn idiot and would get herself killed or just not hold your hand was enough to get people to just hate it. Add to it the fact that it had a terrible combat system with weapons that broke apart almost instantly and no good indicator of when you're turning into a zombie and many glitches, yeah the game just sucked.
This saves the Microsoft sale from being a waste for me. I have everything else. :)
Same here. I'll buy the PvZ table, RCR and BBT this week. I'm interested in Nike+ Kinect but not $30 interested.

Ooh unlockable Hatty in Castle Crashers! Gotta love The Behemoth. More devs should do similar crossover content. It shows customer appreciation for loyalty. Twisted Pixel is good at it and sometimes EA surprisingly.

Played Retro City Rampage for about an hour last night and I absolutely love it. It has been on my radar for a while, but after reading reviews I got the feeling it wasn't going to be anything spectacular. As a kid of the 80's I was laughing out loud at some parts. Especially loved
having both the ninja turtles and the A-Team try to stop you after robbing the bank :)
. It might depend on the decade in which you grew up but if you are an 80's kid on the fence about it I highly recommend it. And for whoever complained about it not taking up the full screen just go into options and turn the overlay off. Did I mention there were game boy and virtual boy overlays? :D

Some quick reviews on my purchases:

Retro City Rampage - You definitely have to be an 80's fan to like this game. It's basically playing a NES game with a ton of 80's and 90's references tossed in it. If you are a younger gamer, you might not catch on to some of the references and end up finding the game VERY boring, wishing you had bought Dust or Mark of the Ninja instead. BUT, if you grew up in the 80's it is very entertaining and you'll end up hunting down all the references throughout the game since they are everywhere, including the name of buildings.

Plants Vs. Zombies Table - Love it! I know a lot of people play Pinball FX 2 just to kill time, even if you love achievements (like me). So it was kinda refreshing to knock out the 1 and only achievement easily and just play the table for fun. I really wanted to see how they would implement the game play of the actual game into the table, and I think it was well done! The flower in the middle of the table giving you sun power, zombies popping out of the floor during missions, and even the big robot in the back which I really didn't get to see what he does yet, if anything at all.

Also, I highly recommend Mark of the Ninja. Picked it up during the last sale and loved the different styles of how to play the game, especially with the costumes you unlock for each style. Play as either stealthy ninja sneaking around in the shadows and not killing a soul, a deadly assassin using all his tools to take out the enemy, or strike fear into the enemy which can eventually lead them into killing their own men that startle them.

Yes everyone seems to hate Amy. I do wish I would find a review or two that was written following the update (I could say the same about Bloodforge). Both games were severely criticized prior to their updates and I've never been sure how they might be received following these. Sadly it's very rare for any review site to review updated games - I'd so love it if The Escapist or Destructoid reviewed Amy again as my god Susan Ardent and Jim Sterling bloody hated that game with a hardon. Part of me is worried that I might one day give in and buy it and then regret the fact that I'm an idiot.

Definitely getting Dust and Retro City. Downloading trials for Hydrophobia, Winterbottom, and Swarm. Anything else I should try? Deadlight and Mark of the Ninja look good.

I will not subject myself to another Keflings game for achievement points.
PFX Classic is pretty lame.
Classic is great if you also like pinball more grounded in reality. I wish they would release more original tables in the style of the classic tables. I completely skipped the Marvel tables, but I did get Boba Fett and Episode V on Android. On Xbox I think you had to buy them together and I didn't want Clone Wars.

Haha, this is starting to piss me off. I have 600 MS points left on my account and I've been waiting forever to get Trials Evo once it goes on sale. But every time it does, it's always down to 800 points, and I'm still short. I don't want to buy more points, because I think that'll likely be my last purchase on XBLA.

I just finished Deadlight this past weekend and I think its proper price point is 400, though some may find enough to like to make 600 a worthy value.

Controls - fine for most of the game, dreadfully imprecise and frustrating in a few key moments. If it weren't for moments like running through a collapsing building, having to wall jump to a ledge, climb over, jump down and duck out the small exit before the roof caves in, I may have not minded the controls. Occasionally I had trouble jumping straight up, jumping forward instead, but my controller is so old the left stick actually creaks and likely had some to do with that.

Combat - fine. You'll want to avoid zombies much of the time, rather than fighting. It's very easy to fend off one zombie (always take damage if you have more than one health bar if a zombie makes contact), but any more can lead to quick deaths. This only feels frustrating when they respawn indefinitely and you can't find the escape or where to progress to the next room, or when you must try to evade multiple zombies spread over a wide area. I hate the tackle move and regret every time I accidentally triggered it.

Story - superb. Some strange lines here or there. Worst part is hearing the same line over and over because cheap deaths keep sending you back to a checkpoint when the line was first spoken.

Difficulty - either just getting through the game or getting every achievement, Deadlight is fairly easy. Low time commitment, though you must get to the next 'scene' to save progress or to keep collectibles you found. Fairly generous checkpointing.

As others have mentioned Act 2 feels like it doesn't fit. In general, zombies feel like the focus for the first act only. In some ways, it feels like an unkept promise, or at least unrealized potential. I still enjoyed it.

I only want the car packs but they only put 1 on sale so we're both unhappy. :)

My wife loves World of Keflings and played the hell out of that game and most of the DLC. It includes two of her favorite things: organizing and telling other people what to do.

Was tempted to buy this but your review helps me decide to wait till its 400because someday. Died 5 times in the demo helps me say no.

I bought the car pack, not sure why.

I would buy Rally if the price was right. Not paying more for that than the full game.

Any thoughts on the Origin of Pain DLC for Trials? The game is fantastic but with all the user-submitted tracks, it just doesn't seem as vital as the Trials HD DLC was for me.

Both the Trials DLC packs are excellent and worth owning.

How much DLC comes with the WWE 13 season pass (Fan Axxess)? Did any of the DLC plans get delayed or canceled because of the THQ liquidation?

The Season Pass includes all of the DLC Characters, belts, and moves. You also get the ability to unlock everything and change a wrestlers stats included. No DLC was delayed or cancelled, they set out for three wrestler packs, a belts pack, and a moves pack. All DLC was released before THQ went under. You also get DDP and Goldust if you get the season pass, whereas if you bought the DLC separately you would not.

You would still have to pay for: Mike Tyson, CM punk's Ice cream bar attire, and Stone Cold entrance and shirt. (80 points each)

The pass includes 20 wrestlers half are current and half are attitude era.

God's honest truth, Dust is worth full price. I bought it on release and never have regretted it. The sale price is a steal.

Thank you for the detailed and quick answer. Appreciate it.

I'm just wondering what people thought of A World Of Keflings. I have 660 points and I don't know if I should spend the 400 and buy this. Thoughts?

Yep. Dust is one of those games that could even pass for a retail game with the amount of polish and gameplay present in it. I bought it last sale and it's a great game!

Buy it! Great addictive game.

I haven't played it, but if you don't have any of the other 600 games I say get them first. If you do, probably best to try the trial. There have been a lot of games I thought I'd love, just to try the trial and not care for them

I am in the same boat. If it was only 200 MS points I would have bought it in a heart beat, but not sure if I want to justify spending 400 MS points for it.

Agreed. If a mediocre retail game were on sale on release day for $15, people would go nuts over it just because it's 75% off MSRP. But Dust at $15 is better than most other games at $15.

Dust was great, longer than expected, and surprisingly high production values.

Keflings was a lot of fun for couch co-op, don't know if it would last as a single player experience

The only two 600 games I'm interested in we're Dust and Ninja and I have both of them. But like you suggested, I have the trial queued up and will try it once I'm home.

I was going to say that we all have the same wife, then I remembered that my wife doesn't like video games, so we can't be talking about the same person.

Glad Dust is on sale again. I missed it when it was on sale during Christmas. Snagged that with my remaining points balance. These sales recently put a big dent in the stockpile of points I have had for a long time. :)

Online multiplayer games are really easy to find and pop/in and out of too. Great game.

In for Magic 2013 DLC and Pinball FX 2 DLC this week. I decided awhile ago to just grab any discounted tables for Pinball FX 2 whenever they're available. Great game, and I don't even usually like pinball all that much. The Marvel tables are amazing...I'm looking forward to the PvZ table.
