What does this indicate? Red ring in my future? I'm playing it from the hard drive. Will a re-install fix this? My 360 is one of the first generation Elites.

Thanks.

GPU issue, RROD will be soon to follow. First gen elite is just as bad as a launch console, not until Falcon were issues fixed.

Yup, RLOD/E74 is on the way.

Falcon didn't help much.

Awesome.

What's weird about jack's face there? Your squad mate faces are always down their with their life meters? What am I missing in the picture?

Awesome thread. Could also be titled "Death of an Xbox."

At least it didn't suffer long. 36 hours of graphical oddities is enough.

I laughed when I saw Jacks face for some reason, maybe cause of the color next to it or something? But oh well, Do you still have a Warranty on it?

I think so. I got mine in November '07. The Elite came out in April '07.

I have the same problem on my elite model with ME2, is there anything I can do to accelerate the RROD so I can get it fixed under the warranty? This happens after about 2-5 minutes into the game, should I just leave the console running after the freeze occcurs?

I was having similar problems with me2 so I returned it for a full refund and instead got uncharted 2. I haven't touched my 360 since. Damn i'm hopeful to not get the rrod or anything wrong with my 360 but it's like everyone else, just that its days are numbered..

It's going to red-ring, just report a red ring and send it in. You can do it online. There's no way they'll know you hadn't gotten the 'true red ring' yet. I just got off the phone with them because it red-ringed again, but if I started it now, I might get a few minutes out of it. But it'll freeze and red-ring again, this I know.

Or if that seems too dishonest for you, start your trouble ticket now and tell them what's happening.

The next time you turn it on it'll do one of 2 things:

#1 - Be fine for a few minutes until it gives you the same checkerboard effect
#2 - RROD

It's inevitable at this point.
