Xbox 360 Headset Cheap? [Use Request VG Deals Forum]

Well I just went through my second mic since I got my 360. The top part of the 3.5 Jack keeps getting broken and stuck inside my controller. I can put one back in but it breaks too. Anyone else have a similar problem? Or is it just my controller.

Shit, man! That's a pain in the ass! I've seen it happen to a friend...it's easy to snap off, especially if you jump/gyrate/dance while playing!

Well, I believe you can get one for about $20. Maybe $10-15 used?

But in your case, maybe pick up the wireless one so you can move freely without snagging it on a button on your shirt or whatever its been catching onto! (unfortunately it's like $60!!!!)

This is the 1st I've ever heard of it .

Do you unplug your headset when you're done playing ?

Or maybe wrap the cord around the controller to exert unnecessary force on the plug/socket ?

Nope for example I just got mine and plugged it in, so I got to use it for one match. Then I take a break and get on live again and i find out it broke again when they can't hear me.

Ive never heard of this. I have had no problems so far.

It definitely sounds like something is wrong with your controller. Either that or you broke something in your controller the first time you put it in. You should call MS and see if you can get it replaced.

I'd reccomend a turtle beach head set. They are pretty nice and you can get some of the older models pretty cheap.

the newer ones (the one with the new mute switch) is crap too. However if your looking for an alternative, you CAN use your cell phone's ear set if you have them as it seems to work fine with my controller.

I gave up after having 4 official mics and one logitech break and the debacle that was the first iteration of the wireless mic with launch consoles. The thing is that the problems are all YMMV, so even a recommendation from someone else doesn't help. Now I just go out and buy a new official 360 mic everytime mine breaks.
