Xbox 360 wireless controller and Windows receiver $38.99 at Amazon (in stock 1/2/10)

I was wondering what happened to that thread. Was going to mention the same thing :)

Ordered it today, plus I get free 2 day shipping thanks to the Amazon Prime trial :D yay
 
Why does this seem overpriced to me, even as a sale? I bought a boatload of Steam games, and am still buying more (Hi, Warlock!), and Lawd knows I could use a controller, but this just seems steep.

Since I'm on a laptop anyway, don't really want to mess with charging, and would have to deal with the big dongle thing (har har), maybe I should get the wired controller. Don't see any deals for those tho.

Nah, this is a great deal. It's essentially the same price as the wireless controller by itself, but you also get the 360 wireless receiver which also runs just under $40 bucks by itself! So basically you're getting the two items for half off!

For your situation though, I think you're right to consider the wired controller. Especially with a laptop. Plug it in, and you're ready to go.

Retail price is $55, so this is very cheap. I ordered this the other day with Prime, so I can't wait for it to come, and I bought it due to having more Steam games now and being able to play my PC on my TV.

wow i didnt realise it was that expensive!! I usually just get used ones on ebay for about this price so I am going to have to get one of these considering its new and all
