Xbox HD DVD Add on $50 in Canada

Excellent. Hell, might as well buy one and grab all the HD DVD exclusive movies that came out (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of The Dead, Children Of Men, Transformers, etc.) for insanely cheap.
So worth it!
 
6 free HD DVD's as well? Damn....I'm probably going to have to buy this.

Does the player make regular DVD's look any better than just the 360 on it's own?

Im going to try and snag a second after school. I want a back up in case the current one bites the biscuit. 6 free movies would be tight too. Are they for sure still filling that offer? My girlfriend just sent her MIRB in today.
 
I was gonna get one of these for my 360....but I realized there is not point since Blu-ray is going above and beyond, I was thinking to my self someone might still develop software that turns ordinary DVD movies into HD-DVD that would be cool for HD-DVD fans. I was reading and Microsoft said they will sell Blu-ray players if they have/and or their consumers demand it, is this true guys?

yes bluray won... but it's 50$ and comes with a bunch of free movies, not to mention hddvds will be going on sale. so it's a very small investment to be able to enjoy hidef movies for a few years, hopefully until bluray doesnt cost so damn much. what is the point of turning a dvd into a hddvd? you're not going to magically get a better quality, if anything, you're thinking of a dvd upscaler.
 
I ordered one of these yesterday from The Source, and it apparently arrived in the store today for pick-up (though those lazy people haven't called me yet, Purolator tells me it's there). So I will be going to pick it up after work!
 
Remember that the 5 free movies deals is only good if you buy it by Feb. 28th. Which is today. =P I got one for $45 new from EBGames. Don't know if it's just that EBGames or all of them, anyone still interested should go look though.
 
I'm wondering if they forgot that there were 29 days in February when they started the 5 free movie mail in offer.
 
Picked up mine today. I got it off the site on the 27th, so it still applies for the 5-free. Also came with King Kong packed in which was pretty sweet.
 
Just thought I'd give you guys who are doing the 5 free HD DVD thing a heads up, you may not get every HD DVD you apply for since they aren't being manufactured anymore. They might substitute the one you ordered with another (less popular one) if they don't have stock.

Amazing price compared the others right now, and it's free shipping if you can pick it up at a store.

Only crap thing is that the free movie deal is over now.
