Xbox Live 12-month Subscribtion- $48.99 (Online code) @ Amazon

This seems like the best deal I have found. My current subscription expires 9/2 and I do not have auto renew turned on. I have seen on the board from time to time of users getting dashboard offers to renew featuring some type of "deal". As of yet I have not received, and I am not sure if or when I will receive a deal.

So just wondering what others would do? Is the dashboard deal usually a decent one or should I just go ahead and order the code through amazon?
 
Yeah, Amazon's had this price for a while, same with the $36.99 for a XB360 wireless controller. As for other deals, I bought a 1 year sub for $36.99 at NewEgg w/ free shipping about a month or so ago, so it does get lower than this once in a great while. Still, $48.99's not too bad.
 
Pug: I would personally never, ever, ever do a dashboard deal. It would require you giving Microsoft your credit card. I made that mistake once back when it was slightly easier to remove the CC & auto renewal from my account. Nowadays it's a giant hasslehoff that IIRC requires nothing less than calling them on the phone.

The best deal was a few weeks ago when buy.com/eBay had a combo pack of 12months, headset, chatpad, and 240msp for $42.99. I doubt we'll see anything like that again for a while, possibly ever. $40 for just the year is usually a good deal, $30 used to be the jump-on-it price, but those days seem to be over with the price increase.

Since you need to renew now then $49 isn't the worst, but next year don't wait until the last minute and you're bound to find a better deal.
 
That is what I figured. I too had trouble removing a credit card from the account awhile back. So I think if I do not find another deal in a day or two I will just go with Amazon. Thanks for the advice.
