Xbox One media remote $15 @ Walmart YMMV

Hmm, is the media remote worth it? Seems scaled down from the 360 one ... plus I wonder how many people know they can turn their phone into a full remote with the Xbox One.
 
I prefer the Nyko remote, to be honest. It may look clunky, but I love having a dedicated power button.

Yes, you can use your phone or tablet as a remote, but it's not practical as a regular remote if you use your Xbox One for media daily.

Smartglass is really useful, especially with the addition of being able to power on from it now. Sometimes voice commands work, sometimes they don't, so it is nice to have options.

True, but you don't have to wait for the remote to connect to the system over your network; it's always good to go. I know it's a matter of seconds, but it's a convenience thing. I have a harmony remote for the living room X1 and the media remote for the bedroom. I'd say it's well worth $15.
 
Wasn't crazy about this remote.  Not very ergonomic, needs a direct line of sight to work, d-pad isn't nearly as responsive as the controller, etc.  The 360 remote I got with my launch system (almost 10 years ago) was/is substantially better better than this one.  Microsoft spent too much time making it look cool rather than being functional.   

Harmony 650 however has been great with the XB1.
