Xbox Preview Program

For some odd reason i couldn't find the original thread! I wanted to say, I just randomly got disconnected from Xbox Live, I went to re connect and it told me an update was available, It's taking a long time to update so this must be for the preview program? I was at the dashboard so it's not like it was for a game. Anyone else get this? Also if you can find the old thread just link it here and close this.

Okay, Thanks! And for everyone that reads this and doesn't want to go to the original thread, It was for the program, I got a tab on the dashboard called "Xbox Beta".

I am in the Disc group... but my dashboard just updated.

I think there's two different updates. One that adds the beta channel to the dashboard and the one that adds the disc support to the xbox.

Pretty sure both groups get the channel. Looks like it's mostly an informative/response section.

When I first checked it said I was disc group. Checked today and I'm in the other now.

Then in the box it should tell you "Group Membership - Disk/Live" Which one it says is which group you're in.

I hope they aren't planning on switching all future updates to discs. Today a lady at Blockbuster was complaining because her blu-ray movie wasn't working on her ps3. The lady working there kept trying to get her to buy Killzone 3 so that it updates. Don't do this Microsoft!

Just like there are multiple ways to update a PS3, it's highly unlikely Microsoft will make future updates exclusive to game discs. Most likely, this is just an added anti-piracy measure to try and get people with modded consoles update to official firmware.
