Xbox Skins. Which one to buy... hmm...decisions decisions.

I love my xbox. I do. But she needs a makeover. This homely looking black thing aint working for me. Ive narrowed down the field to two excellent candidates. I leave it up to a CAG vote for the winner.

The nominees are:

Chaos


The Wind


Feel free to offer up opinions or suggestions (such as "change the jewel color to platnium", stuff like that)

Let xbox decision 2004 commence!!!
 
I'd go for Chaos. I personally have the diamond plate look on mine, its reflective and shiny. It looks damn good. I also bought a skin for the xbox logo, i have a blue orb. For cheapass customizing, skinz is the way to go.
 
I have a red lightning skin I got at CompUSA for 4 bucks. but be careful with those skins. the plastic graphic part of mine is peeling away from the paper backing and the glue on the corners is coming off
 
Screw skins - anyone know where I can find a colored CASE? I used to see them for the DC and the PS but I think my XBox needs one more than those ever did...

I agree. i think those things are tacky and gaudy. It's like a tattoo. In a few years you will ask yourself, "why did i do that?"

just my opinion though. . . .so you can disgard it as you see fit.
 
It is my understanding that these arent perminant. You get tired of them, remove it and clean up the underside a bit. Voila, good as new. I could be wrong though...

i hope they are made of some type of "clingy" material and not an actual adhesive. I find it hard to believe that you can just take it off without there being glue or something left behind.
 
Ive heard there is residue after long periods of use but it easily comes off with a little warm water in a sponge. Sure, ya gotta be careful not to douse it, but if you cant manage that task, no way you should be operating an xbox in the first place.

Not too sure where you've been shopping, but on ebgames.com they are $9.99.

Not to get too in depth but, $35 is inclusive of not only the top skin, but the front, back, and controller skins. Also, I am covering up the (to me) gaudy green Xbox logo with a black or platnium replacement one. Oh, and the EB games ones are nice but a much lower grade of vinyl. (I have a friend into car modification and hes very familar with the differences in grades and thickness of vinyl) If I dump the jewel and controller skins, it be about $15 which is right in line with EBs price except mine is a higher quality for $2 more.
Plus, Chaos feels like my favorite so far. So Im SOL if I chose it over the wind since its exclusive.
Besides, Im a cheapass in so many things, its about time I spent all that money I save on something.
