Recently, all of my internet cables and stuff got all moved around and now I am in need of Xbox's wireless adapter. What has been the cheapest anyone has seen on this or anything comparable?
Thanks. And what do you think about going the eBay route on an item like this?
I've seen some decent deals on Ebay, because a friend of mine is actually in the same boat as you. However, many of the Ebay auctions I've watched have gone for around $65-$75.

This one doesn't seem too bad - $41.00 (10 bids) w/ 21 hours left...

Some seem decent enough, but they often charge you an outrageous amount to ship it to your door. But then that is a problem in any Ebay auction.

My friend has been looking for a good deal on this adapter for some time now, even back around Christmas when it was hard to find in any B&M store.

This particular adapter is still $99.99 at Best Buy - add the amount of money you save without having to pay tax at Buy.com, minus the cost of shipping, and you are still going to be saving money.

Use one of those coupon codes and you save even more, although I think most are for first time Buy.com users. Btw, you can have an account for each credit card you may have available, if you already have an account.

Good buying!
Link didn't work.

Is this the Linksys bridge? If so, that works great as well.
That's strange. Works for me. Try searching thier site for WAPBR-100

Does anyone know if theres any way for this to work with a PC? My PC already has an ethernet port and I would like to use one of these to have wireless internet for my PC but it doesn't seem to work.
You don't need no stinking wireless 'gaming' adapter! :D That's just fancy technology talk for a wireless bridge. CompUsa has one on the cheap. 802.11g to boot.

BUMP, But doesn't the Xbox wireless thing come with some kind of software with it that allows you to go into the dashboard and mess with the wireless channel and WEP protection code etc?

The link you posted earlier didn't work for me either. I did a search for it and that is an awesome price for it. That's exactly what I have been looking for and for a cheap price. If I get one of these, I need to get a special C5 cable correct? It's basically one that is upside down since Microsoft wanted you to buy a wireless game adapter.

Yeah, it comes with a cd that installs everything you need for the adapter to work.

I have mine set at 128 bit WEP and it works great.

I had to play around with it since this was my first time using any kind of wireless internet, but it worked great once I changed my Maximum Number of DHCP Users to 3. (Linksys WRT54G)

I'm guessing the 3 users are for the PC, Xbox and Xbox adapter? (I'm not sure but it only worked with 3)

This probably won't work for the xbox though? Only PC probably.

Yes, but in the case of the link I posted, the Ethernet Jack on the xbox plugs into the wireless bridge with a straight cat-5 cable. For WEP encryption configuration, you'd have to jack it into the PC first to set it up

Either way, if it's set up properly, the xbox as far as it;s concerned is pluged 'directly' into a network switch.
