I was cleaning out some of my shelves and noticed something odd about my Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories... it's got y-fold seals. I'm scratching my head over this as I've never seen this but have any of you ever seen a sealed GBA game with y-folds?

I'm familiar with sealed GBA games that are shrink wrapped with the H-seam and those that only have side seams but I've never encountered a GBA game with y-folds. I do have a couple of Square Enix DS games that are sealed this way but none of my SE GBA games are like this...

To be more precise, it has y-fold seals on 3 sides (top, bottom, and side) and has a sticker bar code on the back (outside the shrink wrap) from some store... I can't remember where I bought it from but I think it was possibly GameCrazy.

I'm wondering if this is possibly a bootleg.

Huh. Well I had (and liked) that game, but I can't remember how it was packaged. Superficially that looks better than some I've gotten, that look like some guy just did it in the back room (but I guess that's okay, that some games just come like that?)

I don't remember seeing anything with that packaging before though.

Sure LOOKS real, but then I don't know if I'd know what a conterfit looked like.

I guess if it's staring Donerds Duke and Gaffy that might be an indication ;)

EDIT: Man, I just discovered those pictures "pop out" big into the browser and you can drag them around :whistle2:D I love weird modern stuff like that

The wrapping on my game (FFVI advance) is not like that. Mine looks like the type that is sealed with heat, melting the two portions together.

But I can't say if mine is genuine either. I bought it a long time ago at a circuit city though, and it does not look pre-opened.

A few of the games I bought from the clearance sale at Best Buy a few years ago were wrapped like this, I remember as it was odd and stuck out to me. One of these games was Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Unfornately I don't have it (I traded it and looking back at my feedback I'm remembering right in that I sent it to guinaevere) I'll round up the other games I have to take some pictures here within the next day or two and maybe you could PM guinaevere to see if she remembers the odd seal job or if it's even still sealed all the better to compare to yours.

I'm honestly not too worried about it... I just found it odd, that's all. I have a lot of sealed GBA games but none of them are like that. Most have the h-seams and some have the side seams so this one took me by surprise.

I keep forgetting to take a picture every night only to remember when I see this thread. I won't bother taking a picture but I at least dug out one of the games (Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of The Force) and it is sealed just like yours on 3 sides (top, Game Title Side & Bottom).

I would say as you said it's just odd I don't see it being a reseal since I bought a copy of Kingdom Hearts CoM at Best Buy sealed just like yours.

Alright, so that's another confirmation... I think it's safe to say it's legit then. Thanks dudes and dudettes!
