You can return a system to Walmart if you have a receipt, correct?

Here's my situation. I have enough credit at either Gamerush or EB/GS to buy a DSL with no money out of my pocket. However, I think I'm more likely to find one early at either Walmart, BestBuy, or Target. I'd love to buy it early, and then once I get it at another specialty store, return that one to the first store with my original receipt. Or heck, can I just return an opened one within the 30 days?

Thanks.
Wait, what? A DSL? They sell those at GameRush and/or EB/GS?
lol
not a DSL router, a DS LITE.

The longer you wait to get a Lite, the more likely the store is to catch on and pull them from the shelves.

Do stores not note down the serial number on the receipt or something?

I saw a guy buying a PS2 at Best Buy and the cashier scanned/entered the serial number into the register, probably for tracking to make sure you are returning the same one if you do so.

Target does NOT do individual serial numbers on the Lites, this is confirmed by me and others in the Lite thread. So just buy one IF you can get them and then return the one you buy with credit to Target later for a refund. Either that or call your local cable provider for other packages available in your area. :D

LOL $hady

Honestly though, if you buy it from Wally World, be assured they WILL note the serial # and track it vigorously.

Also, EB/GS do that as well, at least they did with a used Playstation I bought from them.

I got a funny look from a manager when I brought back another Playstation that I had bought elsewhere for like $1 and tried to return it as the one I had bought from them.

He still did the return though, but you may end up blackballed from either Wal*Mart(wally world) or EB/GS, if they are as thorough in their serial number documentation as I noted.

Heck, I used to take full advantage of the fact my local EB stores never had a universal price across the board on games at all stores. I would buy a game from one store, then return it to another store 10-20 miles away for their full price.

I did this way back in the 16 bit era, but it still held true for part of the PS1/N64 era.

Nowadays though, you'll be lucky if EB/GS give you trade in value of even an UNopened game/game system if you try to return it after their return policy states.
