Zavvi.com e-mail indicates up to 80% price drop on games

CAGiversary!
I can't visit their site from work but thought some folks might want to check it out. Save something for me (for when I get home -). I hope it's worth the look.

they send those emails out pretty often. sometimes you find something good, but most of the times the prices aren't too far from US price drops.

They tend to treat all games as if they are still release date MSRP, so the 80% discount usually isn't wildly impressive. They have some nice deals though.

Somebody can pick up Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty for 9.95 (1 pound shipping - vat?), which is nice since NA didn't get a physical release.

That's true. I'm just in a "glass half full" mood today, I guess. It's probably nothing better than the weekly Gamestop message and I realize some folks don't want to risk CC info at zavvi.com besides...

it's actually 15.61 when converted to US currency. and that's not counting shipping

Is Zavvi a good place to shop for ppl in US ? how is their price compare to Amazon ? Are there any other good UK sites that ship to US ? Thanks in advance

I picked up Child of Eden and Deus Ex Human Revolution from them a few months ago, ran me 20.89 GBP (~$33). Considering when I bought them, that was a really good price. Only thing is that you need to check whether the games that you're getting are NTSC compatible, since they'll likely be PAL versions. From what I understand this isn't an issue with PS3 games, but with Xbox games it could be. You can usually just google to see if something is region free or not. Both of the games that I bought work fine, but apparently I can't buy DLC for DX since it won't run properly.

Deus Ex: HR on 360? DLC on 360 doesn't care about your region. This week I used a US Alan Wake full game download code on my Taiwanese gamertag, bought both DLCs on my US gamertag, and have been playing the game + DLC just fine on my UK gamertag, for example. ;)

On PS3, you're region-locked on your profile. I'm no expert, but you should be able to buy DLC on an account which is the same region as the disc, and play with that account. More here. As long as you're not a trophy whore, playing with a different account should be too much of a problem, I don't think? (Although it would annoy me, being something of a cheevo whore! :whistle2:# )

If it's on PC, there's no region-locking. Buy away! :)
