Anyone else think that this game is AWESOME?

My boyfriend and I got it this past weekend, and we play two player. We are having so much fun with it. We are both huge fans of the Zeldas in general, and I love being able to play an adventure two player. I like the friendly competition with the force gems, but you still have to work together to move forward. We can problem solve together as well (actually.......if one of us it playing a one player game, the other person usually helps problem solve anyway).

So, I love this game. What are ya'lls thoughts?
Is this the same game as the Game Boy version only on the gamecube? Or is this a new game?
it is the same concept of the game but much more full blown

I also forgot: I love the "using gameboys as controllers" thing. So when you go in a cave seperate from your partner you have to look at the gameboy. That was neat for me too. Of course......we didn't have gameboys until this game so we really spent a lot of money at once.....but it was worth it (especially with the CC sale).

Wow, the things that impress me. Haha.

Although it's nice to play on the GBA.. I really think Nintendo could easily add a multi-player mode that does not require GBA's to play. I'm a little sick of them forcing connectivity down our throats.

Of course I say this as I own 2 SP's and 1 GBA just for this and FF:CC :)

me and my wife have been playing it. its a great game.

sucks that i had to go out and buy another gba sp tho...but then again, maybe i can get her to play final fantasy with me.

hahahahaha

i want this game so incredibly badly...but i am soo broke...i don't have a gba either and i would probably need to buy 2 of em so my g/f could play too...

If you do save up, I definately recommend it. It really is unfortunate you need the game boys, but it is an added thing that leaves me personally in awe!
it's the last good Zelda game for GameCube.
When were you able to play WW2 and the new Legend of Zelda? I'd love to have some hand-on time with both so I could make an innane, pointless, asinine comment such as yours.

I'd have to say Four Swords was definitely worth the money spent, and I like all the connectivity stuff. (I'm a total sucker for gimmicky stuff like that.) I play it mainly with my bf, so I'd say it certainly helps to have a significant other or siblings or roommates or anyone else who's always around. It's very reminiscent of a Link to the Past, so if you're a big fan of that game or the series in general, it's probably extra good for you.

On a side note, doesn't Nintendo have the best games for couples? Games like this and Mario Kart: Double Dash wouldn't be nearly as fun without my bf. I don't have any other systems (except a PC), so I'm not sure what other games in other systems encourage as much cooperation in pairs.

I hate Nintendos connectivity garbage. I'm a lone gamer, so these things don't appeal to me at all. I've got a GBA, but don't have the link cable, nor do I see any real need to purchase it. If Nintendo is so hip on making four player games, maybe they should support their online adapter.

I totally agree!! I played Halo like once on Xbox with my boy, also Mortal Kombat, and I can't think of anything for PS2, but we have played Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Soul Calibur.......but Four Swords is different from those because you have to work together and against each other....that's what I love about it!

4 swords rocks my feeble world. I have never seen a game that requires so much team work and simultaneously encourages so much back stabbing.

The connectivity doesn't really bother me (regardless of single player games or multiplayer games) since the GBA is a good standalone system anyways. So getting another cable to add another dimension to a game (the best example, IMHO, is in Four Swords with the Lightworld/Darkworld) seems worth it to me. I think more people wouldn't be so irritated about connectivity if more games supported the functionality well, as opposed, "Oh, drat, I have to buy all this stuff for one game now..." I also agree that they should support their online adapter though.

Personally, even though I had to buy a gameboy of my own (rather than borrowing my brother's), I didn't have to buy a link cable. Four Swords comes with one, and we already had one because of Animal Crossing. It's complex and all, but the funfactor makes it worth it to me.

Oooooh....I just want this game more and more.

I now have 3 GBAs (one SP...RETRO!!!), all I gotta do is buy 2 link cables and Zelda Four swords (which comes w/ a link cable) and Im set.
just got it today from the Nintendo Power deal! We have 3 SPs in the house, so it should be cool.
Whats the nintendo power deal???

Where is the cheapest place to buy this new? I know Fry's had it for $35 but 'm not sure if they still do.

I'd agree with that. The connectivity thing doesn't bother me much, but I am legally blind, and GBA's are so damn tiny!!!
