While surfing the web I came across a blog post about Target getting a Zelda TP Collector Box containing Master Sword and Shield miniature replicas and a soundtrack. It DOES NOT contain the game however. The guy doesn't say if it's a bonus item or something they sell, and after searching the internet like a madman I couldn't find anything else on this. I mean if they were available you'd see some on eBay for sure. Does anyone know anything about this? The guy did include a pic:

UPDATE: These limited collector boxes (only 7,000 made) are available at select Target B&M (Call your store before you make a trip for nothing) for $39.99 now and are featured in this week's Target ad. The Master Sword and Hylian Shield are made of metal and manufactured by Master Replicas (A reputable replica company known for it's attention to detail and quality) and come with a certificate of authenticity. The Soundtrack contains 6 tracks including an orchestral rendition of the Legend of Zelda theme. I want to thank everyone who contributed info to this thread.

(Thanks to Ikohn4ever for finding the pics again)

So it's true then... Are they available in Target stores now?

Yes they are available at Target stores! I just saw it in todays Sunday ad on page 20.

I put these up in my store Sunday before my lunch so that I could purchase one instantly. Don't wait on these, each store got 20 and will not be getting any more.

There's a picture in this week's Target circular.
From the picture, the sword and shield look like cheap little plastic kids toys.

Yeah $39.99 is too much. I'd rather get an extra wiimote or metal slug next week.

Opinion might have changed if it was a full soundtrack and the sword/shield were metal, not plastic.

Master Replicas? They do great work. I actually think it's a good idea that it doesn't include the game, since it would have made it $90-$100 and lots of people already have the game anyway. I might pick this up...

My mom needed me to pick up some sugar and stuff so rather than going to the grocery store, I went to Target. They had a ton of them on display... and it looked so cool. It was calling me! I couldn't resist!

So I bought it.

So.. do you plan on opening it? How is it/build quality? Take some pictures.

Sorry guys, we don't have a digicam at home.

It's actually really, really nice. The shield and sword feel pretty hefty and the detail is very accurate. It's painted very accurately- the paint doesn't go outside the lines (like, over to another painted section) if you will. The metal parts of the sword and shield use chrome which looks better than gray paint that I've seen on some Zelda figures I've seen in the past. The soundtrack is beautiful to listen to but 6 tracks? Weak!

But then I look at the price tag. $40... ouch. That's almost the price of Zelda alone. You're basically paying for two pieces of painted metal in a showcase box and a very small music CD. It's a great piece to show off for collectors but otherwise, I wouldn't say it's worth it.

The guy at Target told me that these were exclusive to Target and that only certain stores had them which didn't make sense because it was in their ads, unless their ads are regional. I don't know if I believe him because there were at least 30 of them on display and I bought the first one I think.

my exgirlfriend is obsessed with zelda and asked for a "display sword" for christmas... i'm pretty sure she meant an actual sword to hang on the wall, but i'm gonna grab this for her too

Yeah, target dropped the ball by not having it come with the game, that would have been great. But then again maybe nintendo would not allow it? I didn't see too many. It's a very nice package. Worth the $40, I am not too sure. $25 would have been more like it. I wouldn't doubt the greedy scalpers are already jumping on this, even though target is going to get many shipments through out December.

It's a pretty nice item though i'd rather it be 35 oh well i'll probably buy this with my b-day target money too bad the soundtrack isn't complete that'd be awesome.

There wont be any more shipments for any Limited Time products in the ad such as the Tony Hawk board, the signed guitars, etc.

according to the ebay listing, they only made 7,000. I show the ad to a few zelda fan (got wii on day one) and they are ready to get this today. If you think about it, you are paying $40 extra for the legendary Halo 3, and with this you dont have to get the game. If they bundle it with a game and sell it for $89.99 people would go crazy over this.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll swing by my local Target and check it out. Just looking at the sample soundtrack, I can see it might go pretty well with the one I will be getting from Nintendo in a few days.

I got one a little bit ago. My Target only seemed to have 12-15 on display, but they might have more in the back. They were a couple of aisles down from the electronics department, so I had to ask. One guy didn't know about it and asked a girl who also didn't know ("I think we sold out of those a few weeks ago") but then they asked another guy (the video game expert) who knew where they were.

Here are the pictures:

I haven't opened it up because it's going to be sort of a Christmas present to me from my wife. But it looks nice. The $40 is pushing it a little, but for an MR replica, that's not bad at all. In fact, it was the fact that this is from Master Replicas that convinced me to buy it, since I have several of their prop replicas and they are very good quality.

Oops, For some reason I thought they were different.

I woke up this morning just to get this. The first Target told me they didn't get them in (I was there waiting for the store to open), all in all I went into 4 Targets, only two of them got this set in.

I picked it up and it is really sweet, but I expected as much from a MR piece. If you are a Zelda or Nintendo fan I would definitely say it is worth it.

I picked up 2 of these today and already sold my extra for $80 on eBay. After fees, I basically paid $8 for the one I got to keep.

Not bad at all! :D

I was finally able to pick one up. The lady said they had a lot , but I couldn't find any of them on the wall.
Oops, For some reason I thought they were different.
Yeah, it certainly would have made it more worthwhile. I would have thought a full soundtrack would have been reasonable for $40...I think the other stuff is cool, but not worth $40.

With NP subscription (from the thread about it):
Yes, just the 7 tracks, most of which are the different region themes that just fade out on the CD when they start to loop. It comes in a cardboard sleeve that's even a little less fancy than the Wii Sports one... it doesn't fold open, it's just a slip-in pocket type. Art work on it is from the game cover with Link's head on one side of the sleeve and the wolf head on the other.
Here's the track list from the back:
 1. The Legend of Zelda: Orchestra Piece #2
 2. Hyrule Field Main Theme
 3. Orodon Village
 4. Kakariko Village
 5. Death Mountain
 6. Midna's Theme
 7. Ilia's Theme
The strategy guide is the same one as in the stores, with the shiny cover. I haven't looked it over too much because I want to play the majority of the game without it but it seems to be a very average guide. A couple pages with good art work up front but the rest is all business. There's a small fold-out poster in the back but no fancy full map to hang on your wall like I was hoping for. The maps are basic overhead solid color drawings at the beginning of each section. There is also a small separate section in the back with maps for the gamecube version which, as most know, are mirrored from the Wii version.
It looks like the Target one is missing a track, but I'm guessing that is not the case and they are, in fact, exactly the same. Why go to the trouble of producing two different sample soundtracks when you could just make one?

Is this a Nintendo first party item or is third party? I don't see the Nintendo seal they have on just about everything in the pictures. Looks like a cheap import fabrication.

At nearly $40, the company selling these are minting money.

It's Nintendo licensed. The seal is on the back of the box.

You should be glad that it's only 40 bucks. This is from Master Replicas. Their stuff is fantastic quality. I wouldn't be shocked if MR made a deal with Nintendo to reproduce more items based on games. If that's the case and this could become the first of a line of collectables and then expect this to be worth some cash down the line.

If I was a zelda nut I would bite the bullet and buy one now before their all gone.

well, I had to go get one. I was a expecting something a little larger scale (the photos posted I've seen had nothing to really relate it to to tell how big it is). It's pretty tiny, but cool. Here's a picture of it next to a soda can for scale:
