Donkey Kong Country was added tday too.
Was it? I checked earlier and did not see it. Must have been added late. I will confirm and add. I am in the process right now of adding all the past 6 weeks games. Let me know if I miss any.

Anyone have any idea when Punch Out is coming to the VC? I thought it was listed as a January release but they must of decided to delay.
Wasn't Mario Kart 64 added a while back? That is not in your release list.
In the process now of adding everything. The original list was missing 25 or so games. NES is done
Added.

Did everyone like how each game went to its one wikipedia when clicked? I can add that to all the games.
that would take a while. I never used them, but if you want to you can. Thanks for the updates

Are things like Ocarina of Time / Galaga / games Japan / Europe has that we don't really "rumored" though?

Unless it's a Japan only release, if Japan gets something like Ocarina of Time or Zelda 2 there is a 100% chance that eventually we will also get it - it's not really a rumor, it's more or less "let's wait week after week until NoA finally decides to give it to us".

It might be a bit of work, but maybe a section for games that Japan / Europe has gotten that we haven't yet got, so it's easy to look at the list and say "Oh, Japan already has Galaga and Zelda 2? We will probably get those Monday".

Then leave a totally different section for the rumored games since who knows what is going on with those.

I mean, the Kirby SNES games are still a huge rumor / who knows what is happening, but eventually we will get Zelda 2 (which isn't on any list you have).

I was planning on doing that with the VC Wiki's from other country's. I'm only going to put the ones in the 'rumor' section that we have a chance of getting, not like Fire Emblem SNES for example. I will put the games name, the country released in, and the date.

I'll put something up in the next few hours with that info.

I see what you mean... it's just some games have a very high probablity of being released due to when they were released elsewhere. I'm really surprised NoA hasn't given us Zelda 2 yet since Japan has had it for awhile.

It will be nice to have every Zelda for the home consoles on the Wii... along with the Mario's, the Metroid's, etc etc.

I'm really looking forward to Zelda 2. That was the hardest Zelda game I ever played. I enjoyed it a lot though and love the music.

I have enough points for one last game, and it's gonna be a TG-16 game I've never played. (I have Alien Crush and Super Star Soldier!)

So, what game do you guys recommend? The points are burning a hole in my pocke....err...Wii console, so let me know ASAP!

dude. Legend of Kage fucking rules! that's the first game I'm DLing when I get another Wii. It's all about the chick playing the banjo, getting picked off with ninja stars, and having your girlfriend kidnapped by ninjas over and over and over again. Back when games had decent plots.

If you like platformers get New Adventure Island. Its much better then Bonk.

So how does Donkey Kong Country hold up these days? How is it in relation to the SNES Mario games? I've only ever played DK Country 2 on the GBA - actually my son still plays it all the time. I was wondering if he'd like DKC on the Wii. I assume they are similar but are there any glaring deficiencies/flaws in the first one? Or should I just wait for 3 on the VC?

I never liked any of the Donkey Kong Country games even back in the day. To me they just seemed like a gimmick vehicle for the pre-rendered background graphics and not really great platform games in and of themselves. I didn't play them very much though; they just never grabbed me like the Mario games could.

Added all the rumored games from out country's from wikipedia.com. If any more info comes out please post here and/or send me a PM!
So how does Donkey Kong Country hold up these days??
The game feels too easy nowadays, but then I'm someone who used to beat the game once ever couple of weeks back in the day, so I know it inside and out.

DKC 1 was good, 2 was the pinnacle of the series, 3 sucked ass imo because it focused more on the animals it seems than the kong's, and the stages seemed pretty half ass and uninspired.

Easy is good - it's nice to let my kids play a game without constant help from me ;). And Roufuss - thanks, maybe I'll download 1 then. I probably won't get 2 since we have it on the GBA.

I loved all three DKCs to death. Probably liked the best, closely followed by 1, and 3 trailed rather far behind, as Runfrazz said.

Hate the water levels though.

Water levels always suck, no matter what game.

Worst levels in mario, water levels.
worst levels in DKC, water levels.
worst temples in Zelda, Water temples.

FWIW, my favorite was DKC3 followed closely by DKC2, followed not-so-closely by the original. I'd still say the original is good, and I would certainly DL it if I didn't still have the cartridge, but I found it less interesting than the other two. It's probably worth mentioning that I played 3 first (then 2, then 1) which might explain why I like 3 more than 2.

great thread, thanks! I'd really like to see super punch-out in addition to nes punch-out! Goldeneye for 64 of course too!

THANK YOU!
Games always HAVE to have a water level...much like a fire, snow, forest, air/cloud one.

Here is a question I once owned Donkey Kong Land 2 for the original gameboy and I loved that fucker. Would I love DKC just as much? I ask this because I am out of points and I bought Streets today thinking oh it's 1 now, they wont put it up.

Hmm, so as I look at the rumored games..Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario Lost Levels (which I understand is "Super Mario Bros 2" in Japan)..why is there no rumor of Super Mario Bros 2 (our version) on there?

Other then that, yay for a new updated thread!

I gotta say..in regards to Kirby's Adventure. The first game I ever played was Kirby Superstar, and then fell in love with it. I haven't played many Kirby games really..(Canvus Curse is awesome in it's own way), but I assume this game was the first Kirby? It's awesome!! I never realized the gameplay pretty much have stayed the same all these years!

I also love later NES games..they really pushed the graphics to the extreme IMO! Well, you know..for NES :)

ANYWAY---DKC is nice, but I do want DKC2. I liked that one better ^_^

..and that's enough of me now

With that said, I'd say DKC is not as good as DKC2 (and it seems like most here agree) - but I would still say that DKC is fun and worth getting.

I've played Kirby's Adventure on the NES, beat nightmare in dreamland on the GBA, and beat canvas curse and squeak squad on DS, and loved all of them, but I've never played any of the other kirbys, so I'm really looking forward to the SNES kirby games and the 64 one if they're any good.

Not only that, the water level has some fucking retarded stipulations, like 90% of your weapons don't work underwater, you swim slow as shit / can't swim at all, and there is always some retarded puzzle dealing with water flow that gives me a migraine.

I wish nintendo put out some more 4 player games.

Is there any chance we'll seee NBA Jam from the SNES come out ? Or is that not possible because of the names of the NBA players ?

EDIT: OP can you please update the 1st post to include the Total # of games released so far on the VC ?

There's probably too many licensing conflicts that Midway doesn't want to both with. I assume they would have put it on a Midway Arcade Treasures compilation (or even XBLA) by now if that wasn't an issue.

Water levels aren't necessarily bad. Super Mario World put some pretty good play control into the water levels and made it so that they hold up to the non-water levels. My complaint as far as platformers go has always been the need for ice worlds--I don't think that they're necessarily subpar, I just hate controls when they use the "slippery" effect.

And yes, DKC's water levels sucked, but that's because DKC's play control is average at best.

I don't know, I really enjoyed the Water Temple in OoT.

The worst water level of all time was on TMNT when you had to undo all of those bombs. That was hard as hell and I kept on getting electrocuted. In fact, that whole game was ungodly hard. I don't think I ever made it through.

During some browsing today, I noticed that we can expect Chew Man Fu out next week. Hudson said last week that it would be out this month along with New Adventure Island.

Who's interested in a weekly (public) poll for predicting the next week of releases? Wouldn't be uber-scientific since there are likely more than 10 options at one time, but might be fun.

My vote is for the Storm level in Spidermen/X-Men (Arcade's Revenge) for the SNES. I hated that whole damn awful miserable game.

word, I think we're the only ones who enjoyed that water temple. my girlfriend quit playing that game cause of it. :/.. but 6 months later she finally beat it.
