Thinning Out the Herd, Social Darwinism at Work November 3rd

PittsburghAfterDark

CAGiversary!
And so it's not hard to imagine that on November 3rd, if the election can be called by then, there might be a sort of grim mass exodus from this sad planet should Bush pull this election out. My generation may be particularly vulnerable to the urge to lay back in a warm bath and open up their veins as chants of "Four More Years" echo horribly from every 24 hour cable news station.

I remember the awful, kee-capped feeling on the day Al Gore finally conceded in 2000. What else could he do? Still - there was a feeling that we'd all, as a generation, had our first turn at bat and struck out. Or, rather, that a bad call had sent us back to the bench for four long years. We couldn't have imagined, then, how badly the game would go - or how much would be at stake when we next stepped to the plate.

But, though I finally have my own bathroom this year, you won't find me dead in my tub on November 3rd, no matter what happens. I'm casting my vote for Kerry, whether or not he makes me go weak at the knees. I'm praying to God, Jesus, the Holy Mother and whoever and whatever else is out there that it goes our way this time. But, if it doesn't, I'm going to stick around until we finally oust these bastards. And I'm going to dance in the street, drink till I'm sick and sleep for three days afterward. The thought alone will be enough to keep me going.

Oh if only it were true. We could thin out the herd without a war or anything resembling Kent State.

Is there a point here? Or only another random chance to foist PAD(tm)-brand nastiness upon us while avoiding discussion of any real issues?

The saddest part is the whole "we", "us", mentallity that a lot of people have. Even though politicians are "supposed" to represent us, they usually don't and inject their own ideology, needs and desires into their votes. There is no "team", once politicians have your vote they quickly forget your needs and why you voted for them.

When you vote for someone all you can do is hope that they aren't lying and will live up the the promises and ideologies that they have preached throughout their campaign.

If that's what you believe, scrubking, why are you such a Bush supporter? I mean, he's *proven* he's a liar, and an ideological crazy. At this point, if you're simply hoping that someone might actually do something positive, but expect them not to, wouldn't it behoove you to vote for someone who hasn't *proven* they're a lying, cheating, warmongering scumbag?

And just to be clear, when I say "warmongering," I'm not talking about a war on terror. I'm talking about a war of choice in Iraq.

You can buy crack and heroine at half-price on most street corners.

Sometimes they have marajuana discounts, too.

I support Bush mainly because he is conservative, and I feel that he is the lesser of two evils.

Kerry is an obvious opportunist, and has proven himself to be untrustworthy with very little effort:

- He denounced his fellow soldiers, admitted to commiting war crimes yet wants to prop himself up as a war hero
- His record in the senate is clearly anti-military yet he says he can fight the war on terror better
- He is clearly an opportunist, flip floping constantly to appease whatever crowd he is speaking to that day which cannot be denied seeing how kerry supporters are split down the middle on many issues so he has to change his story depending on which group he speaks to.
- He says we need to depend more on countries like France when it is obvious they hate our guts and wish we would all die

My company deals with many people who live in France. They don't hate 'us", they just hate our president.

Which war crimes has Kerry admitted to or is this just from the Winter Soldier testimony when he was relating stories of other soldiers and the acts they admitted to?

- His record in the senate is clearly anti-military yet he says he can fight the war on terror better

As a Senator then, Dick Cheney favored larger military cuts than Kerry. Does this make Cheney weak on terror?

- He is clearly an opportunist, flip floping constantly to appease whatever crowd he is speaking to that day which cannot be denied seeing how kerry supporters are split down the middle on many issues so he has to change his story depending on which group he speaks to.

Do you mean like how Bush has flip flopped on the reasons for the Iraqi War, nation building, the 9/11 commission, being the education president? (just to name a few)

- He says we need to depend more on countries like France when it is obvious they hate our guts and wish we would all die

Allies are a good thing especially if you want to fight a global war on terror. Whatever France's motivation were for opposing the Iraqi War, they don't hate us and want us dead.

Polls in France had 95% in favor of Kerry, 5% Bush.

Polls in Germany had 90% in favor of Kerry, 10% Bush.

Polls in England had 47% in favor of Kerry, and 16% for Bush.

A heroine for half price?! Awesome, I've always wanted my own.
Yeah, they're not bigot like us.
1. Correct grammar would dictate the use of "bigots" or perhaps "bigoted" in your sentence. See, when you're talking about more than one person, you should use the plural form.

2. If you really think France is a less bigoted place than the U.S., maybe you should go live there for a while. If you would open your eyes while you were there, you'd see the stupidity inherent in your statement.
