[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Below are older clearance games that are most likely out of the system (will scan $0.01 or "Check Shelf"). A very few CAGs have had luck getting some of these things for 1 cent. However, more likely than not they will not sell them to you. If you find a knowledgable Kmart employee they will know that most clearance stuff goes to 90% and then drops from the system so they will look up the original MSRP and sell it to you for 90% of that. If you can find such an employee, get to know him or her, as they are very rare and valuable ;).

If anyone can verify that any of these are NOT ringing up at 1 cent or "check shelf" I will reinstate them to the main list.

I'm still working on the list. It is taking more work that I thought ;). I'm trying to go back through the last several pages of things to get updates and multiple prices.

I'm keeping the same format as before for the most part, but I'm adding the green highlights for the super-cheap (90% off) games as they can often get lost within the lists (going through this in detail I found several I wasn't aware of in all my trips to Kmart!).

I also think some of the games on the latest list have gone out of the system at most places. We'll have to get those moved over to the second post where I'm going to keep the older games.

OK, I'm done for now (took over 2 hours). I'm open to suggestions and please list any games here I might have missed. My eyes kind of glazed over after going through 30-40 pages of Kmart clearance thread posts, so it's likely I missed something :lol:.

Also, the yellow ones need to be verified (if you weren't the one who originally posted those and also saw them at that price, let me know). Also, any UPCs that are currently all zeros are appreciated.
 
Wanna point out that Xenosaga Episode II is technically on clearance, though only with the restickered UPC. It normally retails for $19.99, though can be bought for $14.99 with the new UPC sticker. Someone also mentioned in the thread before the previous one that Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2, for Nintendo DS, is $15.

I think that DBZ is also one of the $14.99 restickered games, is it not? Maybe we should have another list for those, for 2 reasons. For one, like the games you mentioned, ones that are actually a discount at that price are nice to know about. And secondly, it might help with the confusion some people will invariably have with things like Nightmare Before Christmas and Half-Life 2 (cheap clearance games that are also "value" stickered at much higher prices).

I'm not sure they actually belong as part of the clearance list itself though.

OK - I added a "notable" $14.99 game section in the notes. I don't think we should mix these into the main clearance prices because then we are telling people to look for some games with restickered UPCs and some without, and that is FAR too confusing ;). In general, the restickered ones are displayed prominently and correctly priced, so you can just look through those at the store to see if there's anything worthwhile. But if anyone thinks I should list any more notable ones in the OP, just let me know.
 
Great job, IO. Would you be inclined to include a section for non gaming related clearance items too, like the $22 external HDD from I think Western Digital or the hdtv big screen I found for the not-so-cheapass price of $360??

I have the upc # and model # for that big screen tv for $360, if you need it. While it may be a huge ymmv and people may only find the display models left, a 42" tv for under $400 is a bargain in my eyes.

I found several games on the list at the Kmart in Avenel, NJ but they came up as "Video Game" and were priced $10 almost across the board.

Is anyone else having the same experience?

I, for one, would love to see those extra deals thrown into the OP. I know I was looking for the external HD (no such luck) that I would have never found about it save for this thread.

IMHO, True Swing Golf is an underrated game. Quite fun and easily the best golf game I've ever played. The touch screen is perfect for golf and it's well implemented here. Definitely worth the clearance price (which is what I paid for it)! There are some minor quibbles I have with the game, but really nothing bad. For example, if you zoom in to view the place where the ball will land when you are not in swing mode, you get an entirely different point on the course then when you do this when in swing mode - the latter is far more accurate. So, just never bother zooming in like that except in swing mode.
 
was in K-mart today and caught a glimpse of their clearance list from 2/19 pretty sure I saw Tomraider Legend for Xbox 360 for $19.00. Not really a big deal, but I think its pretty good to see that 360 games are making the clearance now.

I did read it, the games I had checked were in the case with everything else and they scanned the actual UPC on the case, not a sticker. It was Soul Calibur 2 for Xbox and some other Xbox games I can't remember but which IO listed at $2 and they all came up with the generic "Video Game" description on the receipt for exactly $10, not $9.99.

So, perhaps, some KMarts have worked around these price drops...I don't know.

Just sharing what I found and wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

Hmmm... Well, I do know that Ridge Racer for the DS went up to $10 at one of my Kmarts. I don't know if it said "Video Game" when scanned, but I do know that it changed. So that is likely to have happened to other games. If you can recall the others besides Soul Calibur II for Xbox I can add the $10 as alternate prices. It sounds like I may have to print out a full UPC sheet from Slash's site and do some price checking.

I've updated the list, adding a 360 section (I know that came up before but I completely forgot about it/missed it last night). Hopefully more will show up there soon as I'll be getting a 360 in the next few months ;).

What is the size of that Western Digital HD?

Not really necessary (though if you want to, go for it, it will help it stand out amongst the other posts) - but make sure you say what system it is for. Sometimes I have to pull up the metacritic listings to see if something is PS2/Xbox or GBA/DS. Being clear about the system would save me time.

Oh, also, any UPC's for 000000000000 items are appreciated.

Those are pretty old drops - your store is probably a few cycles behind. If I were you I'd take the list from the second post and see what other gems they have! But I'll try to remember to scan those two at my store and see what I come up with.
 
Added a few UPC's and details culled from eBay.

Also added something for my own personal use ;) - asterisks for the Xbox games that are compatible with the 360. I've already gotten a few from Kmart for my soon-to-be 360 (Psychonauts and Half-Life 2). Is Indigo Prophecy better on the Xbox than PS2? I have a PS2 copy from the CC summer sale, but if there are graphical improvements in the Xbox version I might as well shell out $4 for that version. Hopefully someone else will find this info useful too. I'm really trying to pack as much "value-added" info into the list as possible to help people find things they might not specifically be looking for.

I picked these up as well, although they're made by Digital Labs, not Mad Catz.

They're the same ones seen here and here. The UPC on my receipt was 81568700030, but it looks like its a digit short. I don't have the box handy to check.

Kmart receipts cut off the last digit, unfortunately. If you can get a hold of the box some time, please post the full UPC.
