What are some good brands for Hiking boots?

Xevious

CAGiversary!
I went to the Shoe store the other day and I noticed that there were a million brands of shoe makers out there. Usually I destroy shoes from normal wear and tear and durability is important to me.

I know Timberland and Hi-Tec make good boots. Can anyone else suggest a good brand I should check out?

Big fan of Dr. Martens... Check the chukka:

Comfortable as all get out and tough as nails. I wore a pair of those for a little over four years solid at least a couple times a week. I still have 'em and bust 'em out now and again.

It really depends on your price range. As a scout who did a ton of hiking in his day, I can highly recommend Vasque: http://www.vasque.com/mens-hiking.cfm. However, you get what you pay for with hiking boots. If you want a pair that is comfortable, waterproof, breathable, and long-lasting, be prepared to spend $100+. If not, there are several brands that offer boots around $35-$50.

Well I'm not afraid to pay a decent amount if I know the boots will last. I never heard of Vasque or Lowa but I'll check these out.

Redwing makes very good workboots that will last. I know they make hiking boots too, but dont have any personal experience.
