I was at CC price matching GHAW2 with Fry's and while looking around I found one of these hanging out on a clearance shelf. It was the last one. I snagged it up at 19.99 because I've always heard they were great. I'm so impressed by this thing. It's crazy that I only paid 19.99 for it. They retail for 69.99 everywhere else. If you don't know what it is here's a review...

-Scroll to the last paragraph, it says it's worth the 69.99 price tag.

-Description of the product. This site sells it for 19.99 as well but is sold out.

If you want to make you're 360 wireless and don't want to spend 99.99 then this is perfect. That's what I'm using it for. One box plugs into your router or modem and sends a wireless signal to the other box that is plugged into your game system or computer. It's so simple to use. You literally plug it in and you're done.

Good luck on finding it! I'm going to call around to other CC's to see if they have more.

FRY'S LINK - $14.99

Yes, this is a very good product. Haven't had any performance issues with it. However, there is no through port for the ethernet cable, and I cannot get it to work through my Netgear Router. Still, this is a very good deal for a product like this, I found mine on ebay for about 24 bucks.

I saw some pretty bad reviews of these on some other sites...I think Amazon was one of them...I almost bought a set when they were on Woot a couple months back for dirt cheap, but the reviews somewhere talked me out of it...may have been in the Woot forums now that I think about it.

only bad thing about this is the download speed

it will take you hours after hours to download one demo from xbox live

but this is great if you just want to play games on xbox live

no lag at all

assuming that you'll be using a router if you do purchase this item, make sure you portforward it so there won't be any connection issues.

works fine for multiplayer but sucks really bad for downloading since it is only 1.5mbps. i dont download much at all so i dont really care. if i do dl, ill be playing in the meanwhile so for $20, I got it from another site when it was on sale, it is a good deal unless you need to download.

I suggest buying this http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main.aspx?p=ItemDetail&item=NET10656

It is the same price and it is 11mbps. I would have bought this if at the time it was on-sale.

Fast Data Rate
The 1.5 Mbps data rate eliminates the bottlenecks associated with slower 54 Mbps or 11 Mbps wireless networking standards, helping to reduce lag when playing online games on broadband connections.

WTF?! bottlenecks associated with slower 45 or 11Mbps wireless? Didn't they said their speed was a faster 1.5Mbps?

does anyone know if you need a wireless connection already setup when using this or the other wireless device that is suggested.
does anyone know if you need a wireless connection already setup when using this or the other wireless device that is suggested.
It is basically a wireless bridge using a proprietary 900MHz RF technology. You connect your gaming console to one of the box, and your broadband connection (or router) to the other box, effectively making a 1.5Mbps connection between the two devices. It has nothing to do with and will not connect to a IEEE 802.11 wireless device.
buy this from frys.com

they have it for 14.99 and shipping is free

heres the link if you need it:

Thanks! I got it thru the frys link. I was debating between this and the linksys one for a while, but opted for this one since its cheaper and easier to use. My internet connection is capped out at 1.5mps anyway (since I use the cheap yahoo dsl plan).

I bought the Play Link for a friend of mine

most online games are fine (GoW, Burnout, etc.)

but for some reason we have a problem playing a smooth game of NBA 2k7

and of course, download speed is crap

but he mainly wanted it to download the occasional update for his games and system

Mine works just fine with a netgear router. A good product.

Tech support couldnt help me get it to work through my netgear. Maybe I should have had a pro set it up =)
How well does this work for streaming MP3s and videos from a PC over the home network?
i wouldn't use it for that purpose. I had the nyko net extender (basically the same thing) and i had terrible speeds.

So wait, I'm still not exactly sure how it works. I'm not computer savvy AT ALL.

I have Adelphia High Speed Internet. I'm connected via(I guess) a router. Adelphia set the whole thing up. The guy came in with the little blue router, connected some wires and BAM. So I just plug one of the boxes into my system, and the other into my router and I'm done? There really is NO SETUP INVOLVED? Just plug and play?

EDIT - Also, will it work for the Nintendo Wii? Like, for the Virtual Console?
thanks for the link.. ordered....

ill keep my 360 wired but may use this for something else
my girlfriend uses it for one of the laptops sometimes, works fine as long as the router doesn't drop it (once every couple weeks)
Soooooo, does it work with the Wii?
No, because the Wii does not have an ethernet port. It has built in wifi so a wireless router will work just fine.

When ordering from Fry's, make sure not to order too quickly. I accidentally clicked "Submit Order" too fast and it defaults to two-day air ($9.99 shipping). I guess it's cool that I'll get it tomorrow, but I'd rather just wait an extra week and have it for free. Just FYI to all interested in it.
