Worst Game(s) Ever

CODIAC

Just wanted to know the worst games ever. I'll probably play some of the ones you poeple mention.

Here are mine:
First worst: Shadow of the Beast
2nd: NHL Stanley Cup 1993 --> As far as I know this was the first attempt at 3D hockey, with the view zooming around the rink like you're in the action, and as far as I'm concerned, it better be the last.
3rd: Out of this world
4th: Michael Jacksons' Moonwalker --> The name in itself should be enough to scar a child

Out of this world?! this game was GREAT! The graphics were absoule crap, but the gameplay and story etc were excellent! It was like playing a movie on the snes. Also, Michael Jackson's moonwalker was a pretty solid beat-em-up....if u forget that michael jackson was in it. I used to play this in the arcades all the time.

I hated Out of this world, It was as hard as ...as.... I can't find a simile. But it was horrible. I felt sick after playing it.
But Michael Jacksons game jurt pissed me off how retarded and repetitive it was

Oh, yeah, I forgot these too:

Any FMV game made for the Sega CD.
May the lord have pity on the poor fools who spent $30 or more for these pieces of trash

Ditto that whole post (except the graphics in out of this world weren't THAT bad)

IIRC Out of this World was originally a MAC game. It was good on the MAC. I certainly enjoyed it. Not sure about the consoles though.

you know mighty max is alot like dante and the seven circles of hell. hes got the guide named virgil and everything. i mean sure virgil is a bird in mighty max but theres also a talking colossus. anyway bad game. actually i played that game alot. i played alot of bad games on snes. i dont know why. i guess i was too young to know anything. chester cheetah too cool for school comes to mind. as well as addams family. animaniacs. lion king. i played mostly liscensed games for some reason. anybody play yo noid! on nes??? good times. ok im done now.

im curious about Superman for the ps2, i havent really played it but the guys at EGM really hate it a lot..

Superman Stinkhole of Appokolips isn't a bad game, it's just tedious and repetitive. You find yourself asking, " how come superman has to fight row after row of these goony thugs when, of course, he's Superman ? Superman should be able to spit in the general direction of a street thug and bodyslam him with his super lugie.

Here's another couple to add to the crap game list:

Shrek: Hassle in the Castle (GBA)
Samauri Jack (GBA)

do not, under any circumstances, no matter how cheap, buy these games.
friday the 13th on nes
Is this the one "Kill Jason... IF YOU CAN!" One, because if it is, I totally agree, this killed the Jason series, actually they killed themselves, but this killed it even more.

The game might have been wack, but your other comment is prejudiced against mike because you believe the media hype. I personally don't believe it. I ain't saying he's not a little of the handle. Just because someone blames you of something just because you were in the same room with a person doesn't make it so.

anyway, when that game came out he was on top of his game, and you brought it. hahahahahhahahhahahahahaahahahahahaha

Man, I don't know what everyone has against Friday the 13th. I actually kind of liked that game (the strategy of saving your fast characters for when you need them most, the suspense when you knew Jason was in a house...). It could almost be considered the first survival horror game ever. I also thought Moonwalker, Adams Family (SNES) and D (Saturn) were quality games, but I digress....

I'd say the worst games I ever played were Ring King (NES), because it was nowhere near as good as the arcade game, Video Speedway for the CD-I (2nd worst driving game ever) and Club Drive on the Jag (worst driving game ever).

Some bad games from back in the day were M.U.S.C.L.E. for the nes, the little figures were cool, but that game was awful. And The Tick for the snes was terrible, considering how much I enjoyed the series. If anyone ever played Transformers for the nes, they know why it was never released in the US.

Shadow of the Beast was good on the Amiga (where it was developed for), I'm sure the console versions were crap.

Out of this World was developed for the Amiga originally too.

Moonwalker I liked on the Genesis.

What was the Acclaim Batman game on the SNES? It sucked. It also had loading screens. Bleh!

The Tick! Holy bafmodads did that game suck. What a shame to waste a great license like that (not that such a thing was unusual for the time).

Kinnikuman redemeded itself however, with a GREAT Gamecube version and a good GBA game as well!

"With my rice I like to have some cow, cow, cow
It tastes so very good I don't know how, how,how
It's my favorite type of chow, chow, chow.
WOW! WOW! EAT NOW!!

I haven't played it, but I hear Kabuki Warriors for Xbox is among the worst games of all time. Also, Mortal Kombat Advance. There's tons of crap shovelware for PS1 (Dukes of Hazzard games, Hooters Road Trip, dozens of others), but it takes something special to be REALLY bad. I think one of the worst current-gen games that I've actually played was Blade II for PS2 (also on Xbox). Man, that game was retarded.

Kabuki Warriors is below average, but certainly not one of the most awful of all time.

Blade II is okay, I played it for awhile, and it entertained me. (Maybe my standards are too low?)

Out of the entire Xbox library, I think it is safe to say the worst titles are:

Pulse Racer
Sneakers
Stake: Fortune Fighters - WORST XBOX GAME EVER

Agree? Disagree? Discuss. :)

If it's like the genesis I should slap you right now. The only thing good about this game is the music. And even that was hardly worth playing this game for.

The two Zelda side-scrollers on CDI. I bought the system for this swill and now I have the horrible animated cutscenes from these games burned into my soul for eternity.

Also, I HATE Gran Turismo 3. I know its a sim, but when I buy a game that has "the world's fastest sports cars", I'd kinda like for the game to be FAST.

If you want fast, get F-Zero GX. That game will sear itself into your brain. Just don't sit too close to the TV... or you may lose your mind entirely.

Ecks: Bear is driving? How can that be?
No one has mentioned Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest yet?
Well, in my opinion, because it wasn't one of the worst games I have ever played. Maybe one of the worst games with the FF name attached to it, but that doesn't make it one of the worse games EVER ;)

Never played the geneisis version, but thoroughly enjoyed the amiga version.

You actually own those things? I've only seen screen shots on the web and it looks scary. Those games killed any thought of ever trying to get a complete Zelda collection.

One game people typically bring up in this type of thread, but haven't yet is Castlevania 64. I'll just pre-empt them and say that the game isn't a real turd. It's alright. A good 5/10 or so. Your character makes a disturbing sound when you eat food, though.

I actually enjoyed OOTW and did finish it. It had a really good story that I can remember, but was also difficult as well. A bad game by today's standards, but not at the time of release.

My vote for the worst game would be anything with KINGS FIELD in the title, lol.

oh my god Ring King! The game is decent, but my favorite part comes between rounds. After you're done fighting, you sit in the corner while one of your crew members gives you, uhh, a bj. Don't believe me? Download the rom, i swear to god. It's the best thing in a videogame, ever.

Drake for Xbox is so bad, it gave me a hernia. Superman 64 and Batman Forever (both superhero games ironicly) tie for the worst games EVER.

10. Friday The 13th (NES)
9. Elevator Action (NES)
8. Super Bonk (NES... I think?)
7. Any Grand Theft Auto Game under #3 (except for the burping and farting...)
6. Jeremy Mcgrath SuperCross 2000 (PsOne)
5. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (GENESIS)
4. Yogi Bear (SNES)
3. NHL Stanley Cup '93 (SNES)
2. Any Mortal Kombat Game
1. Shadow Of The Beast (Genesis)

Yeah....the cut scenes are bad, and the games were disappointing, but they're still kind of cool to have. I played a decent way in to the first (Link) one, but never really played the second (Zelda) one too much. I hated hitting up to jump.

I know its off topic, but there was supposed to be an overhead CD-I Zelda game released (Zelda's Adventure), but I've never seen it in a store or on line. That one really didn't look too bad, but who knows if it even exists.

It does indeed exist because I own one. It's very hard to find and goes for a pretty decent amount when up on eBay, at least last time I looked. Zelda's Adventure is certainly more akin to LoZ or LttP with its overhead view, but those games are much better. Still, it's the best of the three CD-i Zelda games pretty easily, and the only Zelda game where you control Zelda through the game. So it's pretty interesting, although not anything near what the normal Zelda games are.

OH, I also forgot the game Super Noahs 3D ark. This would be the shittiest Doom game ever... It's Doom mixed with Bible, woah, never saw that happening.

And what the hell is Elevator Action?????

I used to like Elevator Action, I can remember playing that in the arcade at Chuck E. Cheese. You ride down elevators and shoot guys.
