Half- Life 2 news continues to be bad

Vivendi already had lay off a bunch of game employees a couple months ago, now they are going to sit on a game that is undoubtedly retail gold (whether or not it's good, it will sell huge guaranteed)? I realize they may have to work some things out with Valve but they don't really seem in the position to let such a huge game pass by the holiday season. Sounds like they are sitting on gold while squabbling over pennies. I just don't get it.

if this does not come out before the end of the year I will be pretty pissed off. I plan on buying it anyways, but want to play it sooner than later.

It would be stupid to be sitting on a compleated Half Life 2, waiting until after the holidays to sell it. I guess that it wont really matter, because it will sell a ton of copies no matter when it comes out.
 
yes but most businesses count on the 4th quarter numbers to make up for average and below average sales during the rest of the year. A blank 4th quarter could bankrupt a company.
 
STUPID VUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want this game very bad, especially after EBGames.com/Gamestop leaked the Collectors edtion. I've been waiting to play these games forever, and now VUG is being dumb? :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:
 
That info from EB isn't confirmed. Anyone can say what they want, but unless Valve confirms it it is just rumor.

great. so how the hell do i un preload this game from my system, because i really dont want to waste the 2 gigs its taking up for another year.
 
Yup, this sucks. And I had been waiting and anticipating it for so long...man I want it now..how long has it been since the first one 7 0r 5 years now (don't remember).

6 years, as it came out in 98. And it's still the best game ever.

I wouldn't give it the title of the best game ever but one of the best. Definently in my top 10. Now were you talking only PC games or PC and console or just FPS??

I'm talking it's my favorite game EVER, hands down, on any platform. Nothing can compare IMO.

for me its up there around 2 or 3 because I love Chrono Cross/Trigger.
 
According to the latest issue of computer gaming world, VU is being sued by one of the programers because he claims that VU doesn't pay overtime to it's programmers and even makes them edit their punch cards and other illegal stuff.

no it won't. That thing has switched engines again and is now on the DOOM 3 engine. It is never going to see release

This game is already complete, and by hook or by crook it will be out this holiday season. There is no way Vivendi can afford not to. They keep losing developers like flies, where now they have become a second tier publisher
 
WEll, simply put, if Vivendi pulls of a rotten egg like that....I SERIOUSLY dont think the gaming public will be supporting that company in the future.

and *poof*, Vivendi will be no more, and the memory of such a company will live on through the ages as infamously as a beautiful game known as ET.
