AOL says "Mii too"

CAGiversary!
Just got this in the mail, and it seemed awfully familiar:

"Cartoon-ify Yourself

A WeeMee is a miniature version of you. With just a few clicks, you can create your own WeeMee absolutely free.

There are hundreds of looks to choose from, so you can make your WeeMee as unique as you are! But the fun doesn't stop there -- once you've created your WeeMee, visit
http://www.weeworld.com/, where you can play games, send ecards and create email signatures to show your individuality everywhere you go online."

I don't know if this is a joint effort between AOL and Nintendo, but if it's not, you think they could have come up with a better name.
Well, I guess you're both right: http://www.weeworld.com/about/news_item.aspx?home=yes&NewsID=113

I'd never heard of them before, and AOL's message made it sound like it was something they created. Sorry.
" * The first WeeMee was born in the United States in September 2002. "

The concept of Mii's was born from Japan's disc drive for the NES, and wasn't fully used till later. So even though it wasn't called a "Mii" till recently.... odds are it was first.

Either way sueing Nintendo about a schmo character is just dumb.
