I figured since we have one for Garage sale finds and we have a stupid/funny/ridiculous craigslist thread, we may as well have one for finds/purchases made through craigslist. Brag away! Tell us how you went to make a purchase and you got more than a deal from some creepy homeless guy! Nothing is sacred, as long a deal was had!

I've sold a few things, but have only had one find I'm going through with, which I'm going to pick up tomorrow. A nearly-mint, complete with box/manual/pack-ins Halo edition xbox for $100. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend on an xbox, but considering they go for ~$200 on eBay (I just watched one end for that much with bids), how could I pass it up. I'll post up some pics when I get home with it.

But, did the Halo edition Xbox's have the dreaded Thomson drive? $100 IS a bunch to spend on the system, if you're going to have to replace the drive in 6 months or less.

From what I've found, the Halo editions were v1.2 and more than likely with the Philips. But if anything, I'll flip it on eBay and make a quick bit on it and get a cheap-o xbox.

It's actually where I found the Microcenter Xmas 360 deal from. That hour before I found that thread was despair I tell ya... I wanted a 360 sooooooooo bad and only for GoW. Made some great sales off it too, ones that would never happen on eBay... that's for sure. lol

Got a broken Thinkpad R40 (PM 1.3GHz, 512MB, 802.11b Wi-Fi) for $100. Got it to boot up after a BIOS upgrade, but the hard drive does have some bad spots and the DVD/CD-RW drive doesn't detect. Got a new hard drive on the way for $25, and I'll probably be able to live without an optical drive, so yay $125 laptop!

Oh, and the battery holds a full charge. :D

I scored a MONSTER deal a couple of weeks ago. Not quite as good as my score of my lifetime when I was a young teen and got tons of Uncanny X-Men, Daredevil, and Amazing Spiderman in Very Fine or better condition for a dime apiece, but pretty damn good anyway.

A gentlman wanted $1000 for the following comics:

Giant Size X-Men #1 (first appearance of the second team of X-Men, second full appearance of Wolverine, 1975) - listed as Very Fine Plus
Uncanny X-Men #94 (second team starts in the regular line) Very Fine Plus
Uncanny X-Men #95 (death of Thunderbird) Very Fine Plus
Uncanny X-Men #96 Very Fine Plus
Uncanny X-Men #97 Very Fine Plus

Uncanny X-Men #24 (first Locust) - listed as Very Good condition
Uncanny X-Men #67 - listed as Good condition
King Size X-Men #1 (reprints issues 9-11) - listed as Good condition

I arrange to meet up, feign disappointment with the condition on them, and cash in face him with 500. He doesn't want to accept, we settle on 550.

Best part? I review each of the issues - he was EXTREMELY conservative in his grading. Giant Size #1? It's a solid Near Mint Minus, 9.2/10 EASY. Value? No less than a grand, probably an easy $1400 or more. This one is going in the vault.

Issues 94-97? They are in excellent condition, each is a solid Near Mint or better. Value for the four is around $1500 easily. Each of them is better than the copies I already have of each, so they are going into my vault. The extras are on the list for trade.

The copy of 24 is actually in Fine to Very Fine condition, the 67 is Good to Very Good, and the King Size is a solid Fine. On the list for trade.

I definitely made out, and the best part? He as a BUTTLOAD of more comics from the 60's and 70's...this morning I picked up a Very Fine Minus copy of Marvel Spotlight #5 (first appearance of Ghost Rider) and SUPER MINT Superman vs. Spiderman large size first print for $50, and also paid another $50 for his last 2 copies of Superman Versus Spiderman, one is SUPER GEM MINT the other is Near Mint 9.2-9.4. Extras are on the list for trade.

Here are some pics. I have a bunch of them on my tradelist/for sale, if anyone is interested.

The other issues in the deal (with my copy of Uncanny X-Men #1...excuse the horrible flash):
Isabella5053.jpg

Japanese Sega Saturn (complete/mint)- $40
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence LE (complete/mint)- $25
Rival Schools (PS1, complete/mint)- $10

those are the only things I've bought via Craigslist :)

A while back I had tried to get a DFP and found one finally on CL for $45. I got him down to $35 because it didn't have the ac adapter but it was in brand new condition. Later I sold it for a profit to help pay for my M$ wireless wheel. I don't know if that was a mistake or not. Oh well...

I found a CD-X with two wireless controllers, 5 Sega-CD games, 2 genesis games, and the S-Video cable, all mint, for $90

The same day, a Genesis with 32x and CD, 35 genesis games, 12 CD games, 1 Saturn game, a NES, 25 games, lightgun, 3 controllers, 2 NES MAX controllers, and game genies for both systems for $90 Pretty much everything was in great shape with boxes and manuals for the sega stuff, and manuals for most of the NES stuff, too

That comic deal was a steal! I've been colecting about 15 years (since I was 10 or 11), and that deal destroyed anything I have ever got, although my centerpieces are regular silver age comics as I have never spent more than $20 on a book.
So who wins, Spider-Man or Superman ;)
Well, the story, as hokie as it is, is a pretty damn good crossover COUGH COUGH (except for Lex Luthor using a red solar light gun to boost Spidey's powers to Superman's level and give him a fighting chance, at least until it wears off and Spidey realizes quite quickly just how out of his league Superman is...but it could be a LOT more ridiculous - see below...). It ends up being a team-up between Supes and Spidey against Luthor and Doctor Octopus.

But it's a pretty significant milestone in comics - the first DC and Marvel crossover, and it happens to be between their biggest stars. Much better than the horrid fan voted DC versus Marvel of the 90's.

There was another interesting crossover around the time of this one, between Batman and the Incredible Hulk.
Batman manages to somehow kick Hulk in the gut with enough strength to knock the wind out of him and cause him to inhale some Bat-knockout gas, subsequently knocking the big Brute out. HAHAHAHAHA...
While I understand the need for suspension of disbelief when it comes to comic book stories, let's not make them utterly absurd...

And I'm still looking for a copy of Superman Versus Mohammed Ali...never read that one but I'm sure it's hilarious.

Sorry, my acronym conversion ability (ACA) is completely fried. I'm sure I'll say "duh" after someone tells me, but what is a DFP???

Is this your ad:

? I JUST saw it right after looking at this thread, lol.

I scored a brand new, still in the factory-sealed box, PSP for $100 a couple weeks ago.

I was going to hold out to see whether there was going to be a hardware revision before buying a PSP, but I couldn't pass up a brand new one for $100.

Yup!

I'm going to be getting rid of my extra copies...

BTW I didn't realize you were in Cali...if you are in LA or SoCal I will be happy to show you the copies of 139 and 143 I have in person. Otherwise, as I said, I will get the pics in a week or so as I am out of town until next Monday (5/21)

Here is a big haul from today. First the NES with games and the atari games.

I bought a NES and games for $12 of craigs lists. But when I got there the lady had a whole bunch of atari games in box.

GAMES

- Tetris (In Box w/instructions)
-Tetris 2
-Loopz
-Pyramid
-Pinball (In Box with Instructions)
-Championship Pool
-Rad Racer
-Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
-Hatris
-Othello

Then she through in the atari games for free, all are in-box, most are complete, one even has a comic book. A bunch of these say 100+ games included. So I don't know if they are knockoffs or what.

- Breakout
- Space Invaders (112 Video Games)
- Space Raiders with comic book
- Space Raiders Video Touch pad
- Dark Cavern
- Atlantis
-Combat
- Towering Inferno
- Defender
- Space Attack
- Video Olympics

Then I stopped at the local thrift and got these for $3 total:
- Wrestlemania
- Bionic Commando
- Eliminator Boat Duel
- Winter Games
- Basewars.

edit: what he wants is $30 for each bundle or $100 for all, that is still alot of moneyz which I don't have alot of, what I'm mostly interested in is the Dreamcast and Saturn, I'm actually not interested in the GBA or SNES at all. What would be a fair offer for the Saturn and DC? Is $40 to cheap ass as an offer for both bundles?

For that, $50 tops. Nothing rare and nothing great.
So how much of this stuff do you all think is stolen?
Most of the time the stuff is not stolen, and the people are legit. Sometimes you can just tell when theres something not right with the listing.

Also, sometimes, you might want to advoid the listing if there are no pics and a local PN.

1. Can we make this a Sticky and "Official" ?

2. I think I am going to find most of my best deals on Craigs list. From the two scores from yesterday, to the big one I am picking up tomorrow. Much easier than yardsailing. But I will still be out there on Saturday with the rest of you.

Hopefully he doesn't ask for too much.

Seller is asking $250
What would the experts here think of the price?

Just look at the picture. I don't have a television anymore so I can no longer justify holding on to these for another move. Sell as whole lot only. You get

SNES + 2 controllers

Sega Genesis + Sega CD
-Two 6 button controllers and one standard controller
-King's Bounty, Ecco the Dolphin, Master of Monsters, Shining Force 2

TurboGrafx 16
-5 Controller Splitter w/ 3 controllers
-Moto Roader, Dungeon Explorer, Devil's Crush

Nintendo 64, 1 controller, power adapter

Gamecube
-2 controllers, 2 off brand wireless controllers, microphone
-PS2/XBox/GC combination RCA + S-Video adapter
-Prince of Persia 2, Worms 3d, MarioKart, Pikmin2, Mario Tennis, Metroid Prime, Starfox, Megaman anniversary, Mario Golf, Crystal Chronicles, Smash Bros. Melee, FZero, Mario Party 6

2 Gameboys Advanced
-One missing battery case cover
-Two Gamecube adapters

Playstation 2
-2 Controllers, 1 regular playstation controller, 1 regular playstation four player adapter
-Smackdown v. Raw 06, Street Fighter Anniversary

Also, From Russia With Love for XBOX

Have not played older systems in many years, cannot guarantee everything. Also, some will require mundane parts (power adapter, RF switch).

This is a lot of stuff. Take it away from me so I no longer feel bad about not having a TV.

You can probably ebay off the two gamecube adaptors and the PS2 console too make back most of your purchase.

Offer $175 like larrabee said, if he declines counter with $200 which he should take and then ebay the things I said two and anything else you don't want.

BTW,

Tomorrow I am picking up 2 CL finds.

One is just a Genisis with 16 games.

The other is a big one,

A PS1, PS2, Saturn, Dreamcast, and over 70 games.

Tomorrow is going to be fun!

I've bought a 4GB Sansa and a Kodak Camera off UsedVictoria (same idea as craigslist) combined I paid $70. Pretty sure they were stolen but I wont lose any sleep. Had them for several months and no one has kicked down my door.

I have an NES, Sega Genesis and CD combo, and Atari 2800 (?), 4 controllers for the Atari, 2 for the NES, and power supplies for the Genesis/CD. Unsure if they work, but look fine apart from a little dust. No other cords included.

Also have games for the Atari:
Donkey Kong
Asteroids
Night Driver
Swordquest
Space Invaders
Casino
Bowling
Missle Command
Starmaster
Berzerk
COmbat
Breakout
Pac-Man

This is a listing I'm looking into. what do you guys think? How much should I offer? I'm afraid everything might be broken
That's a really damn good deal. Nice.
Thanks man, this guy just said his old tennant left it all there. But he didn't include the PS2 Av cables, looks like I need to go to gamestop. I need to buy a switch too, now I got a PS2, PS1, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, Genisis, DC, hooked up. Maybe Gamestop has those too.

I'm about to get a Dreamcast with 45 games, 3 controllers, vmus, rumble paks, for $60.

Hell yes.

Oh and another ad had the FF7 Ultimate Guide.
Yeah, the one that sells for a pretty penny.

$5.00.

The guy's only asking $10. I'm thinkin' about it.

Picked up a 20GB PS3 in box with everything and an extra wireless controller for $300 a few weeks back. I wasn't really looking for it, but how could I say no?

yeah you gotta take those and turn em into something else you want, at the very least. whenever a big package is >$100 under the going rate, i jump on it and resell it piece by piece.

This is old, but last November I picked up the following 360 games for $20 each... and yes, I think some may have "fallen off a truck":

- COD 2 (used)
- Lego Star Wars 2 (x2) (Sealed, new)
- Tony Hawk Project 8 (Sealed, new) $30
- Condemned (used)

Damn Larabee, that's a crazy good score. PS2 AV cables should be no problem...I think they are also interchangable with PS3's, maybe even the last PSX's.

There are TONS of "fallen off a truck" games on craigslist all the time.

I've picked up brand new sealed PS3 and X360 games for $20-30 quite a few times now.

Ya I actually went down to Game Stop and got a Universal S-Video connector. So I have my N64, Game Cube and PS2 all on one cable now.

Also I bought a switch off Newegg, its getting cluttered with all these systems now.

I bought an Xbox + 2 controllers for $50. I thought it was an OK deal since GS sells it for $100 without the additional controller.
