K, here's my problem. I love the style of the game, obviously it is something unique. The combat is pretty ok, not excellent, but pretty good compared to other games. Now for the story...ech....for the first 10 hours I was totally into the story, then when you
kill the multiple headed dragon which is supposed to be the last boss or something
the game starts feeling like a total drag. It's as if they just tacked on another 30 hours for no reason because they thought the game was too short.

I feel like the story in Okami is so bad and so boring that I just don't feel like finishing it at all. I'm like 18 hours into it, so I have invested a lot and feel like crap if i don't finish it. But every time i pick up the controller to play, I just feel like the game isn't going anywhere...I also feel like I have no incentive to keep on playing because the combat started to get dull for me.

I guess im torn between the game looking so beautiful, the actual gameplay being pretty good, but the story progression being just sooooooo dull.

Personally. I would rather play a game that was 10 hours long with an amazing or at least engaging story than a game stretched out for what seems to be no reason.

anybody else feel this way? probably not....heh

nah it's still dope,

you will also fight another "end boss" type dood only to realize there's even more game ahead

I also got about halfway through and stopped playing, but not because I thought it was boring. I just got caught up with 360 games and FFXII, and haven't really had a chance to go back and completely finish it.

Based on the 30 or so hours I did put in, I felt it was easily one of the top games of last year, and the best "Zelda-clone" since Alundra (although calling it that is simplistic, at best).

You know what's funny is that the same thing happened to me but with Zelda Twilight Princess. I beat Okami rather quickly and enjoyed it the whole time. I'm getting back into Zelda now that I have time.

I suggest you keep going, there are many more great moments in that game.

Yeah, I also put down Okami pretty quickly as it seemed to drag on. The game was so easy to the point of being boring. I got about 7 hours into it without even dying and then sold it.

I agree ... the game should have ended around the 15 hour mark, if that.

I'll probably never finish it. It's just not good enough/interesting enough.

I should put that one on my tradelist. :whistle2:k

It did drag a bit, but always seemed to pick up with a new area or new skill. If you aren't liking it now though, I'd say give up, there is nothing too different, plus the game is easily 40 hours long just doing the main quest, so you aren't even close to finishing it.

Exactly the same story here. But really, the clincher was the crawly text during cutscenes and that AWFUL sound that would accompany it. I don't know whose decision that was. You would think the QA team would realize that it was the most obnoxious sound in the universe?

I'm in the dungeon where you go to face Orochi or whatever, and I'm pretty much done with the game. I'm not going to be able to even get to the 33% mark, much less finish it. Too boring.

i didn't have that problem at all.
beating orochi 15 hours in and finding out he was just one part of a much bigger entity was a huge, and welcome, surprise.
i ended up logging 60 hours in the game and came out of the experience feeling extremely satisfied. it did meander there for a few hours after the battle, since they really did absolutely nothing to move the story along, but once the main plot began to unfold i was immersed. easily one of my top ten favorite games.
