Sega 32x question

skid

CAGiversary!
So I was thinking about buying a sega 32x, but I may have a problem.
I will be using it with a Sega Genesis version one, and I know that when the 32x was first released thaty it came with little brackets to be used with the Genesis version one.
The 32x that I'm looking at comes only with the unit and cords.
So I was wondering if I need those brackets to use the 32x on my Genesis version one, or how it will work and sit on my Genesis version one without the brackets.

Actually, the spacer is designed for the second model of Genesis. So you should be fine. The brackets you speek of sound more like the RF shields which aren't necessary for the operation of the 32X.
Either way, you should be fine.

I'd recommend NOT using them because they're pretty hard to get out of the Genesis if you want to pack it away again.

As the Angry Video Game Nerd mentions in the link nonggamer provided, you'll need to make sure you get all the connections necessary for the 32x. That damn thing is NOT dependant on the Genesis for power like they want you to believe. I found out the hard way when I paid $2 for just the 32x and Moto Cross Championship without any of the hookups needed.

^ Ha. I remember getting Moto Cross back in the day and thinking, 'Thats it, graphics can never go further than this.'

It's not like I really had any intention on playing it anyways. :p I knew the game was gonna be a PoS as pretty much everything on the 32x was a complete miss. So paying basically a dollar for the 32x and a dollar for a random game was enough to at least say I have something.
