Ok. I am really liking the graphic adventure type games such as Dreamfall and Broken Sword. Can anyone tell me if I am missing any?

Dreamfall
Indigo Prophecy
Still Life
Broken Sword
Syberia
Syberia II

Those are the one's I currently have. Surely there are a couple more I am missing, but maybe not. Anyone think of any others and anyone have any opinions on which of the above are the best? I am currently playing Dreamfall and really really liking it.

I don't actually know much about the titles available on the XBox, but I wanted to ask you if Broken Sword was good if you have played it. My friend bought it and we played the first ten minutes or so at my house, it looked like fun.

I have played quite a bit in but haven't played it all. My impressions are that it is very good. If you like the adventure type game, then you will like it.

Is Fatal Frame considered an adventure game? Just wondering (haven't played it, but have heard it was pretty good... but not necessarily what style it might be.)

I know they made Fatal Frame Fatal Frame 2 for the XBox...

It might be considered adventure I guess but Im more looking for your traditional graphic adventure type games.

For the OP's purposes, no. Fatal Frame has too much action. Adventure games the OP describes have pretty much a 99% emphasis on story and figuring out if you picked up an item and if you were suppose to use it at a right spot. Old school PC games. Adventure games usually have no "battle system" whatsoever so you can play pretty relaxed and they usually don't require fast reflexes or eye-hand coordination.

schuerm I think you listed them all, as I also tried looking for them as I am a fan of old Sierra and Lucasarts point and click games.
Dreamfall
Indigo Prophecy
Still Life
Broken Sword
Syberia
Syberia II
Dreamfall is pretty good, and it's a sequel it a PC game called The Longest Journey. I felt the story was a little too ambitious so it felt like they didn't have time to finish up loose ends in the story. Indigo Prophecy is pretty dark and there are some action sequences, but it's also pretty good. The story kind of becomes stupid in the last third, though. The story is good enough though that you'll want to finish it. Still Life I couldn't finish, the puzzles became too complicated for me. Broken Sword is GREAT. It has the light, fun atmosphere of old PC games, fun story and characters. It makes me want to track down the old PC games to try out (I believe it's the third game in the series, the first game even received a GBA port). Syberia 1 I played, not 2, but I found it too slow paced and uneventful. It has great art design, though and concept, but the pacing is dreadful.

Of the list, I recommend the most Broken Sword, Dreamfall, and Indigo Prophecy in that order. The last two on the list feel rushed at the end so you might not like it.

Thanks. Broken Sword 1 and 2 are both on the PS1 also. Just in case you want to track them down, it might be easier to find for PS1.

I like Dreamfall also, but all the loose ends at the end killed it for me. They are coming out with it's epsoidic squeals this year on the PC.

I was going to also mention Shenmue 2. Though it does have come timing and action sequences, it's still a relaxing game. I spent so much time in that just playing the old arcade games and lucky hit. It's my favorite game on the xbox.

Yeah, I have that one also, but wasn't sure I should classify it as the graphic adventure type. I haven't played that one yet, but probably will after I get done with Dreamfall.

How about that CSI game? Is that an adventure type game?

I think Myst III & Myst IV should be thrown into the Xbox adventure list.

I never played CSI, but I would assume that it would be considered an adventure game.

ah.. I forgot about those. I don't know if I have ever seen Myst IV though. I have seen one called Exile which I think is Myst III

Exile is III.
Revelation is IV.

Hmm, I liked the April character a lot. I never did finish Longest Journey, though.

I played Myst once, I also found it to be too slow. Shen Mue 2 is kind of like an adventure game combined with a brawler. I like it but it also ends with huge gaping loose ends.
