[Canada] ESIV: Oblivion (PS3) - $39.99 at Best Buy

well its probably because the new special edition is coming out in september and it comes with all DLC 360 has and expansions up to date in one box

so collector/extended??? edition = 69

and normal = 49-39
 
Finally the GOY edition of Oblivion is coming out...been waiting for this, hopefully it won't be as expensive as the regular edition of Oblivion is, as Oblivion has been out for 2 + years now

I am, the extra achievements will be the incentive I need to get into the game again. Assuming old saves will work on the GOTY of course (and why wouldn't they?).

old saves working or not is definately a deal breaker for me

Yeah, your old saves works fine. I had traded it in soon after I finished it (April or so 2006) and then when they came out with the DLC I just borrowed it from a friend for the additional 250 achievement points. You may just want to rent it instead of buy it, the additional quests only took about 6 hours total.

EB Games is having a promotion where you get +50% trade in value when you trade towards a PS3 (as in, the same transaction). So if the game gets you $44 (again, it may be lower now) regularly, it would be $66 off a PS3.

I don't believe that to be the case. According to the offical website the GOTY edition comes with the Knights of Nine and Shivering Isles only. None of the other downloadable content is included.
