360 and Amazon Question

MoeB

CAGiversary!
Hello everyone,

This is going to be a two part question.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are any loop holes into getting amazon.com to ship an item to Canada.

Also, do we know what the status is on the new 360 Pro bundle with HDMI? I haven't been able to spot any units in BestBuy or Futureshop.

Thanks,

- MoeB

The only way that I know to do it ... requires two parts.
A credit card with a billing address in the U.S.
And an address to someone/place in the US you can ship it to that you can trust to pick up later or bring it to you.

So to answer your first question, I dont think there is a way to ship directly to Canada. I use to live in the U.S. so I have one CC still register there with some friends too. So when I need something I just ship it to them and drive 2hrs to pick it up from them or have them bring it over when they visit.

As for 360 with HDMI in Canada? Don't hold your breath. We still haven't even gotten the price drop for the HD DVD player yet.

you dont need a credit card with a billing address in the states, I ship stuff to ohio fairly frequently on my canadian credit card.

Well I'm guessing you're buying from the other stores. Hmm that's an idea on its own but I'm not sure if personal stores on Amazon can guarantee me the HDMI pro model. Plus they charge a shit-ton of money for shipping.
And just to clear things up. I don't need the elite model :)

If you like in or around Vancouver you should look into getting a PO Box in Point Roberts adn get all your US goodies shiped there.
actually ive had a american buy something for me and it shipped direct to me. You do have to pay shipping though.
CAG's are generally pretty willing to help us out with this sort of thing, i usually throw in a few extra bucks for their time

While good for games (I just had someone do it for me for bioshock off amazon) it's not terribly cost effective for consoles :(
