Gamecube broadband adapter

CAGiversary!
Hey everyone

I bought a Gamecube broadband adapter at Futureshop and it rang up as $29.99. The price tag shows $49.99.

Were they just too lazy to put a new price tag on it?

It seems like a good deal judging by the current prices it is selling for on Ebay.

I could have sworn I saw them at Bestbuy today for 9.99.... I'm not too sure though, I'll try and double check tomorrow when I go get new headphones.

I found some for 10 bucks at a Loblaws, personally.

And are the servers for PSO 1, 2 and 3 still running to use these adapters? o_O

Unfortunately, the servers for most of the Phantasy Star games are shut down.

According to Wikipedia, the Xbox and PC (Bluebox version) servers are still running.

So there's no real point to the worthless-from-the-beginning GC BB adaptor from the beginning (note: I've played PSO1&2 for about a year and 3 for a month).

Looks like they're only good for Mario Kart: DD lan parties now, if people still even bother. "/

Well besides Mario Kart: DD lan parties, there are some exploits that utilize the BBA. Which lets you run homebrew code and lets you use Gamecube Linux (for example).

Ah yes, and also run any GC games that loads the entire game into the RAM (ex. Animal Crossing, Zelda Bonus discs, etc).
