Since my local Circuit City sold out of Bioshock this morning, I took the CC ad to the Electronics section at Walmart and asked one of the clerks if they price-match competitors ads. She asked which game I wanted and I told her Bioshock. She says, "Oh, from the Circuit City ad? $39.99, right?" I tell her that's the price for the PC version but she's firm -- "No, look." She shows me the back of the CC ad, where the 360 box art for Bioshock is shown and a confusing list of prices. Again I tell her the $39.99 price is for the PC version and again she tells me no.
She rings me up at 40 bucks and tells me "Thank you for trying to be honest."
No, thank you, pea-brained Wal-mart employee. Thank you.
Obviously, this is very much YMMV, as I'm not really sure how you can pull this off but just wanted to let CAGs know about it. Yay for CC screwing up another ad.
