Imports Links: Exclusive Titles and Suggestions:
Anybody interested in imports, EzyDVD is doing a 2 for 50 (or 25 a pop) sale for Universal titles.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?pid=647&ddat=1&dsal=1&dper=1

Import exclusive titles include

Rambo 1-3
The Holiday
Total Recall

And there is also non-combo versions of

Children Of Men
Smokin' Aces
American Werewolf In London
Miami Vice

for you combo haters.

The really nice thing is that the AUD is weaker than the US dollar. So I was able to grab Rambo: First Blood for only 27.23 AUD (US $22.39)
Oooh...another import site...Smokin' Aces sounds good, never seen any of the Rambo films...and I mean never, I kinda want to pick those up as well.
Oooh...another import site...Smokin' Aces sounds good, never seen any of the Rambo films...and I mean never, I kinda want to pick those up as well.
Yeah, this one is in Australia.

I've never dealt with them before so proceed with caution but for $22.39 (fuck that's the same price as a HD-DVD in the states) I just had to give it a go.

I've never seen the first Rambo flick but I heard it was pretty good.

Why would you want the import release over the domestic one?

I guess if they dubbed all the voices in rambo to reflect Australian accents I could appriciate that too :)

They are NOT available domestically, that is all I can think of (or extras).

Now I have to check two treads.
Easy solution: Get rid of the PS3...
Easy solution: Get rid of the PS3...
Can't do that! I need something to play games on since my 360 has been gone for three weeks for repair. :D
looks like the warner non combo disks are up at the wb store as well...

you should be able to use the 20% off code
25% off
I just got an email from Warner titled "A Birthday Gift for you!", good for 25% off any DVDs at warnervideo.com :) I think it was just in time to place your order before September 5th and get that $10 coupon due to them not shipping your order until after the 5th. I'm not sure if this particular coupon is only for people that have a birthday in September, but just figured I'd share..

The code is JLBM and it says it's valid the entire month of my birthday.

25% off
Tempted to pick up Superman Returns, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, & Happy Feet...now if anyone would give me close to retail price for my HD DVD/DVD combos :whistle2:k

I am very tempted to buy Heroes HD set. Does anyone have it, is it worth it, is there a cheaper deal other than BB at $99.
wow..not bad but ive already preordered everything i want from warner..

hopefully they announce more new stuff soon
Same here.

I'm wait for 2 more movies to grab with The Omega Man.

They are suppose to announce That's Entertainment - The Complete Collection and The Aviator pretty soon.
ive never seen bladerunner.. that any good
I haven't seen it yet either but I still blind bought the Complete set.

I figure a movie directed by Ridley Scott (Alien/Hannibal/Gladiator), starring Harrison Ford, with a story based on a Philip K. Dick (Scanner Darkly/Total Recall/Minority Report) story and is currently #101 on imdb's top 250 list; How could I go wrong?

It's a great movie. I still need to see the director's cut that everybody hates. It looks like both the briefcase and the disc only HD versions have the same content (5-Discs), so I need to decide which one to pick up. Probably the regular, since I've really nowhere to put a briefcase. Then I have to decide which format.
ive never seen bladerunner.. that any good
Yes.

Extremely good.

It's finally nice to see it get the release it rightfully deserves.

Question in regards to the WB Site. Do they have The Kubrick Collection for sale? I see the individual movies that are available for preorder but is it possible to order the entire set as one item?

-Update- You can't buy the HD-DVDs in one set. You have to buy the films individually. :(
Pricematch it to target, 70 + tax. I did it yesterday
Very much YMMV. Target no longer price matches as a store policy.

There is no HD Kubrick Collection planned yet.

It's only the movies individually or nothing.

Never seen it either found a trailer:

May or may not contain spoilers...Looks interesting but I don't think its something I would buy.

Are those better than the HD DVD/DVD combo versions?

Never seen Bladerunner? Wow...you're in for a treat.

They are if you dislike combo discs and like disc art. And saving money.
Never seen Bladerunner? Wow...you're in for a treat.
Yeah, it's been on my to-watch list for awhile now but after I heard the HD-DVD announcement I decide to just wait for the December release before I watch it.
Are those better than the HD DVD/DVD combo versions?
Not really, they just have disc art, thats all.
They are if you dislike combo discs and like disc art. And saving money.
Ahh...thanks for the info. I kind of like combos, don't care for the art that I cannot see (my discs are rarely hanging out and about), and I'd just have to double-dip for the new versions...so I wouldn't save any $$. Thanks for easing my dipping fears.

Do you know if the Kubrick movies will be any different on Blu-ray? Or exactly the same? Sorry if that's OT, just a simple question.

guess ill be getting bladerunner then.. ive heard great things

thank god its warner..

we need to find deals on universal and paramount movies..

it seems the only time i get universal movies is if amazon has a deal
Do you know if the Kubrick movies will be any different on Blu-ray? Or exactly the same? Sorry if that's OT, just a simple question.
As far as I know, they are exactly the same but I'm not positive.

Not alot of info has been released about them yet.

$22.29 shipped? If so, hot damn I'm going for Smokin' Aces.
$22.29 shipped? If so, hot damn I'm going for Smokin' Aces.
Yeah, like I said it was only 27.23 AUD shipped and since the AUD is weaker than the US dollar (1 Australian dollar = 0.8236 U.S. dollars) it only cost me 22.29 shipped.

Remember though it's a Australian site so it may take a week or two (or three) to get to you after you order.

Sorry, I meant pricematch the target advertisement of 70 to best buy. :)

Usually when I send USPS first class to Australia packages get there within 10 days, I've even had people claim they got packages as early as 4 days from when I shipped! That's pretty fast for international, but I don't know what it'd be like in reverse.
anyone know where one can find reviews on these australian releases?
Check this thread on AVSforums:
