Fry's (outpost.com) has a bunch on sale for $13.50 but shipping is ~$6. I just bought The Patriot and Fifth Element (remastered) for that price. Shipping is the same for up to about four Blu-rays though so it's not that bad if you buy more than one.
LOST Season 3 Blu-Ray Amazon preorder.

$86.96

Not necessarily a deal per se, but worth mentioning nonetheless. It's still nearly $40 dollars cheaper than the absurd MSRP.

I'll be picking up one regardless of the price though.
And I thought Heroes on HD was expensive. Are there that many more episodes and extra content on this or does this just fall in line with the usual BR pricing being more expensive than HD?

I thought HD was more expensive...but I don't want to get into symantics here. Different companies have different MSRP I'm sure.

Wasn't Heroes $99.99 MSRP on HD?

I don't know that imports are as big among BR viewers in the US - after all, most HD imports are for those people who are paying $40 to buy BR-exclusive movies in the US.

Oh, and tagged.

Here is a deal from blu-ray.com. I used it to buy Best of Blu-Ray Vol 2 and Troy for $65 shipped.

"Here is a birthday code some guy is passing around AVS:

JLBM

It is good for 25% of any purchase through the end of this month. Some guy ordered blu-rays with it, so it's not just for HDDVD. Just go to http://www.WarnerVideo.com, place and order, enter the code, and enjoy."

Thanks,
Matthew

Damn, there are tons of BDs at Amazon for $14.95 or less.
I may just copy the titles and list them in a spoiler tag, and then you just find them at Amazon rather than putting links to each one.

I put a spoiler tag above now, but that isn't all the titles.

These titles are familiar, I feel like they'll be the standard price for them at most places.

I'm not sure why this fallacy continues but HD-DVD's are almost always $5 more than BRD's. Take a look on Amazon, pretty much every BRD has an MSRP of $34.99 and sells for $23.99 and every HD-DVD has an MSRP of $39.99 and sells for $27.99.

If you go to Best Buy, most new BRD's are $29.99 and HD-DVD's are $34.99. HD-DVD always trumpets that they're cheaper but in practice the opposite is true.

Why they don't sell them for at least the same price is beyond me, as it is certainly hurting their sales. People looking to jump in can easily see that BR's are cheaper and people who already own both formats will buy the Blu-ray since it's cheaper.

The HD DVDs that are priced $5 higher than BluRays are Combo releases. If its a non-combo release, then the movie is usually the same price.

Also, i think the cheaper price "trumpeting" has to do with standalone players, not the movies themselves.

???

Just about every HD-DVD on Amazon is $19.95 unless it's a HD/DVD combo or boxset.

Anyways this format warrior shit should be kept out of the deal threads.

I saw this today in the HDDVD deals thread and I used it to pre-order the Blu-Ray versions of Blade Runner: 5-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition and Twilight Zone: The Movie. The 25% ended up making the Blade Runner set like $52 and Twilight Zone like $15. Since I got them together there was no shipping. I thought those were pretty good deals! The Blade Runner release is going to be out of sight!!
How soon do you think the Paramount BRs will become "rare?" :)
That's something I've wondered about too.
None are really worth it. Maybe two I wouldn't mind watching.

I'm glad someone finally decided to give each format its own thread, even though it took about seven months from the time I first suggested it. :applause:
Is the format ok?
I'm not done adding current deals and other helpful sites.
Works for me. Thanks for doing this and adding a section for expired deals. I'll be picking up a few gifts at warnervideo with that code.

Frys.com currently has A Few Good Men @ $16.99 for pre order. the shipping kills the deal for me, though.
RNFS also works for 25% off at warnervideo.com. Code expires 9/30. :)
Thanks. Ordered smallville and troy for 70.00 shipped. Save $10 from amazon's prices. Hopefully WB will see how much people enjoy BR. heres to hoping.

Who is the best B&M retailer for Blu-ray DVDs? Target looks to be, although their prices match Amazon's exactly on their website (since they are affiliated), but I'm not sure if that is true for Targets in general. Can anyone confirm or deny?
I only buy online b/c I don't know that I've ever seen a B&M store match Amazon's BR price.
targets online prices are good. instore they're awful.

What I do is print out the page from target.com and PM at BB.
Never had a problem with that.

Generally, Fry's tends to have good in-store prices on BD's, that's where I've bought most of mine, all for $20 or less :D

Also, if anyone is in the vicinity of North Hollywood, Sun Valley, Burbank, there is a Gamedude in North Hollywood (gamedude.com) that sells used BD's for either $14/$19 (It depends on the sticker price they give you), that is if you don't mind buying a used BD, besides, they're almost always in mint condition.

I like to get my BDs from Frys if I have to buy them instore.

Also, I got my internet in my new apartment, so I'll be able to update this thread much more often.

IMO, FYE is the best B&M store for HD & BR's. They sell new ones for on average $22.99. Used go down as low as $9.99. They also offer insane amounts of credit for dirt cheap games, so even in the rare cases theyre charging retail, it equals out to be a lot less.

I never would have suspected them as being a good store for movies. I may have to go look tomorrow after class and see what all they have.
i still have yet to ever see a good deal at a fye
Varies by store as far as the used stuff goes. Their site usually has good deals (they were even better back in the $10 off $10 GCO days). With some luck, store credit is attainable at as low as $15 credit for $2 cash.

The cheapest Blu-Rays that FYE sell are Fifth Element & House of Flying Daggers, both at $11.99 each.

Guess I'll drop by there tomorrow and have a look-see. Been wanting to pick up the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as well as Departed and TMNT :p
Still a little iffy about PotC ever since i read about the framing/cropping issues
