Well here we go..

Can the Celtics live up to the hype?

Can the Spurs repeat?

Will the overhyped up rookies live up to their images?

Will the Jazz ever get back to the finals?

all that and Kobe Bryant is looking for a new team

my standing prediction for the Jazz season 55-27

finals winner: Phoenix

East winner: Celtics

final four: Celtics, Phoenix, Utah, Cleveland

The east is weak so I think the Celtics will be able to contend. The only other legit contenders are the Bulls and Pistons IMO. Cleveland did nothing in the off-season and D-Wade is still out.

Miami will get into the final 4 if not win it all. D-Wade is only out until the end of Nov. and with the upgraded spot filled by Rickey Davis the heat will be ok. The final 4 will be Heat vs. Celtics in East Finals, and Phoenix and San Antionio in West Finals. Heat win it all over Phoenix in 6. hopefully Kobe gets traded to a East team... the East is weak...

LOL cmon dwade!

i dunno about east finals though.. thats a little wishful.....

and 'toine is gone......

lets see how davis does..

hope kobe gets benched tonight

i know SA and Phoenix are the best teams in the NBA.. but i really really hope for a Jazz/SA rematch in the playoffs after another full "healthy" year for the Jazz..

but really I just hope the Jazz get one win IN SA this year.. we haven't won a game there since 98.. that just needs to end heh..

what a shot by battier..

hopefully kobe doesnt pull any crazy shit in the last 2 seconds.

very smart... they fouled kobe before he could shoot...

kobe has 44 points.. what a crazy fuck

game over!!! rockets win!!!!

I hope the Bucks can stay healthy this year, they are a playoff team if they can (they would have been in the playoffs last year but its hard to do that when every starter misses significant time due to injuries)

Going to be a great year hopefully for the Bulls.

And I must be one of the very few but I think putting all that talent together on Boston is eventually going to backfire just like it did in New York and be the new laughing stock of the NBA.

My final four predictions:

West: Phoneix vs. San Antonio and Phoneix will win in 7

East: Detroit vs. Chicago and Chicago wins in 6

NBA Championship: Phoneix will win in 7 but my Bulls will put up a fight! But hopefully my last prediction is wrong and the Bulls will win it :)

The problem with that is Garnett, Allen and Pierce are not "me" players

Cleveland did nothing in the off season but also did not lose anyone. There team won the East last year so that should still make them a contender this year. I also think you can not count out the Nets who have there big 3, plus a healthy Kristic and some added depth this year.

I don't necessarily think the Cavs will make it back to the finals. However, folks who don't think they'll make it out of the first round or make the playoffs all together are way off. The Cavs may have spent too much resigning Sasha but they're the same team minus Varajao.

I'm a Knick fan.

Think of me this season whenever your team wins a game. :(

No, seriously, I'm excited. This is sort of a win-win season for the Knicks. If the team yet again flounders, Isiah Thomas will undoubtedly be axed (despite his recent extention); Jim Dolan has tightened the purse strings finally, which leads to the logical assumption that Isiah is on thin ice. If the team actually wins some games and makes the playoffs, great - it means the young core is actually going places and starting to win games, and that'd be a great starting point for the young Knicks.

So, yeah, I'm looking forward to things getting started. Hopefully the latter scenario takes place rather than the former, but either way will hopefully lead to a positive conclusion to the season.

I'm also excited about seeing how Zach and Eddy coexist. Eddy is my favorite Knick, and I love how Zach plays the game (dominant in the low-post but also pretty darn great at creating for himself at the high-post) - so we shall see, it could be pretty once they get the kinks worked out...or it could be disastrous defensively.

OMG THE WARRIORS ARE 0-2...

Hey fantasy fans, pick up Kelenna Azubuike of the Warriors, kids a beast.

5 games till S-Jax is back!

I haven't been a basketball fan since Larry Bird retired from playing, I was a Celtics fan then. Then Larry Bird coached the Pacers and was the best coach over, so I was a Pacers fan for 3 years. Sadly he left. :(

Go Celtics!

Great 2-0 start, starting off with a huge win over the Wizards and then a close OT game win against the Raptors, with Allen making the winning shot.

The East is OURS! :D
Celtic's winning by 30 in the fourth, holy shit.
try up by 39 going into the half.

But the Magic are 4 and 1 baby. We play Pheonix at home on saturday. I have to work it so i hope its a good game.

The Cavs forgot to defend for one play and my joy over LeBron's shot was extremely short lived.

Hope the Mavs have another dominating year and don't have to play the Warriors in the playoffs, they'll go deep if they don't have to play Don Nelson again.

Go Knicks.

The Knicks are actually playing well. Much better then I thought they would. Zach Randolph and Curry are playing well together and the Knicks have many good roll players as well which are doing the dirty work. Hopefully they make the playoffs this year.

I'll put it this way, not to say the Mavs were lucky but the Warriors shot 18/32 from the line...they can't play like that and expect to win. Baron Davis needs to send Devin Harris/Jason Terry a tampon, because he's making them his bitch.

Josh Howard is an amazing player, i'd rate him better than Dirk. Everyone's amazed by how bad Dirk plays against the Warriors, it's not that hard. Baron Davis, was pushing and man-handling Dirk outta the post. The Mavs need to re-consider the Dirk for Kobe deal. Imagine Devin Harris + Josh Howard + Kobe...that's a sick three-some. The only deal contract wise that would work is Jason Terry + Dirk for Kobe, which isn't equal value for Kobe but is probably the best deal they'll get.

Josh Howard is good don't get me wrong here....But you are crazy if you think he is better than Dirk.

Maybe it's the few games i've seen of the Mavs, but it seems that this kid is always consitent, while Dirk, not as much. In crunch time against the W's, Howard gets the rock way more than Dirk does.
 Anyone see Tyrus jump over Rip?
pretty sweet. He didn't make it clean though a foul should have been called

Dirk is pretty much the main reason the Mavs are a top tier team. Take Dirk away and they are pretty mediocore.

Good Lord the Knicks suck.

Isiah Thomas (the executive) sucks.

Stephon Marbury sucks (as does the Starbury nickname)

I normally require more than a simple "something sucks" to describe something that is unpleasant, but I don't think any word sums that situation up better.

The Magic are 14-3 holding on pretty good, Seems like the Magic and Celtics are the contenders for the East right now, Detroit is doing worse than they usually are this early in the season.

I also think it's funny how bad the Knicks suck :)
That game last night was just pathetic. But they deserved it after Q Richardson opened his mouth.

No kidding.

I bet he wished he stayed in Phoenix now.

I see you have NBA 2K8. Maybe we can meet up on Live this weekend?

I was at that game yesterday, my god was it embarassing. I never saw such a blowout. Shame too 'cause I wanted to see more of Ray Allen playing (go UConn!).

I miss the old knicks when they were halfway decent :(

I have nba2k8 as well, it's a blast. I'll be down to play too if you want (not that I'm any good).
You spelled LeBron James wrong there, pheer.
I said he's at an MVP STATUS, not MVP. Bron Bron's going crazy, I think it's a 3 man race between Bron, Davis, and Howard.
