Er I have my doubts on this working with trade 3 for free.
I don't. Cause I triple checked this...

this seems like an amazing deal esspecially if u have some credit at eb games allready. Try the game if you want it keep it, if you dont take it back. Or even buy it play it and wait till 2/40 at rv
And then they'll repackage the game, shrink wrap it and sell it as new. Why encourage them?
That's fraud.

I have to say the cover art makes me a little queasy, but it's made from the same guys who did TimeSplitters, so it should be awesome.

I know that's a problem in the US, but I've never heard of anyone on RFD or a Canadian CAG running into that problem (selling Nintendo 64's in Gamecube boxes aside).
EB & GS USA =/= EB Canada
THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!!!

EB CANADA is frickin AMAZING!

GameStop US sucks so hard.
EB & GS USA =/= EB Canada
I was in the States yesterday and there were literally two GameStops across the road from each other.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if EB Games gets rebranded to GameStop, considering the GS logo is creeping into the flyers. On a somewhat related note, I saw a RadioShack in the US yesterday.

I don't get it. What is so special about a RadioShack in the US?

Did you happen to be in the Bay Area of California? hahah

Hello!

Two things. reshrink wrape would never happen. We make ten times more off selling it as used. To many fees selling it as new anways. plus we all know the used will be like 5$ cheaper.

Second gamestop is only in the usa, it is eb games everywhere else but one other country. it is not worth the cost to change it right now but i would not be suprised to see a small gamestop sign under the EBgames. Kind of like the Souce by circuit city.

oh, and it will work with the trade 3 promo. I have played this game, it is good. I own a PS3 that I bought on day one and this will be the first game I will buy for it.

Your above statement does not make sense. You make more off selling used games because your cost of aquiring them is less. Shrink wrapping it does not change how much you payed to aquire the game, and it would allow you to sell it for more.

Also, it doesn't make sense that EB would re-shrink their games anyways, when half the time they try to sell you an unshrinked game (plus all the mega-glue stickers) as new, unless you specifically ask for them to get one from the cupboard.

Also, when did you get to play Haze? I am jealous. This was my most anticipated title one day one, but for some reason I am slightly skeptical now. I think COD4 may have spoiled me with 60fps. Though the co-op may make it a day one purchase for me. I have never played a good online co-op shooter. I was ticked, when Halo 2 dropped it. And I went PS3 this gen instead of 360... CoD4 didn't have it... Supposedly Haze was designed with co-op in mind from the very beginning, as opposed to some tacked on levels at the end.

Yes, but paying you back with full store credit means you will probably be buying something else from the store that could be used, which was acquired at almost no cost, or something new, which means we still have your money. There is either no loss or still a lot of gain.

Doesn't EB do this with all games? They used to. Or was that just used games? Basically you could buy a game, and if it sucked bring it back within a week, and trade it for another game of equal value. You could only do it once per purchase. I know I did this with Xbox 180 games, a couple times about 4 years ago. I swear that they did this on new games too.

If we had a firm release date I'd go preorder it. But if its not coming out till March then I won't bother.

This game needs to actually be shipped and in the back of stores before I'll believe any release date.

Well Reshrink wrap would never happen @ my EB as we do not have a shrink wrap machine.

If it does come down to an open copy of a "new" game, usually it means our sealed supply has run out and thats all that left.

Your always given the option of "New game in Display case" at our store, if you dont like just walk out. Some people mind, some dont.

But seriously HAZE for a week and you get all of it back, ITs just like the promo for GOW2 all over again, free rentals =)

Off the topic here's a question; a couple months ago I purchased a brand new mario strikers from EB games but turned out a friend had bought one for my birthday. I returned the game the next day without the shrink wrap and explained the whole thing. The guy eventually gave me a full refund on my debit card without mentioning that he'd need to talk to the manager or what not. It took less than 5 minutes that I got my money back and really appreciated it. So did he do me a big favor or was it just another standard procedure at EB?

It's YMMV, but EBs do have shrink wrap machines. If I'm buying something open and think there's a slim chance I'll return it I always ask for shrink wrap, wherever possible stickers DO NOT touch my games.

Also, nice EBs will shrink wrap guides so kids don't destroy them. But I haven't seen any do that around here for a good while. Coincedentally I haven't bought a guide from EB in a few years. My last ~50 guides have been from Amazon or Chapters, they're cheaper and *mint* :)

The only time I've ever had to deal with a used game sold as new was stuff at Compucentre (that don't exist anymore, at least in Winnipeg).

It was pretty sad since most computer games at that time are not shrink-wrapped (they use clear tape to seal the box flap instead), so you could always tell when a game was used if it had been shrink-wrapped.

It was nice of them to make it painfully-obvious which game they were going to rip me off with I guess...
