"I LOVE Space Harrier. So excited when it was in Shenmue, haha. You could play in his house and the arcade. Yu Suzuki is a GENIOUS! I wonder how much it will be? 500 points? Posted by Momotaru on 01/26 at 02:57 AM"

Too bad I already own most of the demo titles that will be available on Brawl.

"Finally stopped by to watch after the plugs on CAG Foreplay and the CAGcast, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshingly cool everyone was. Most game videos just make me think "awkward" (esp. when I wince at the forced smiles), but Wombat's never looked happier... at least, in video form. Good editing -- short 'n' sweet."

Incidentally, I'm a huge fan of Advance Wars. Great work on the Nintendo event!

I'm really excited for sins of a solar empire. Not only is the name totally awesome, but I was a huge fan of games like freespace/freelancer and homeworld. I'm a sucker for outer space. <3 mass effect...

And speaking of mass effect, I hope that comes out on PC this year fixing some of the annoying issues with it. But I highly doubt they will, those sorts of fixes seem like sequel territory and not port territory.

I'm also really interested to see how STALKER's going to do. The original game wouldn't run on my machine and I heard it was extremely buggy, but I heard that it was good. I'm just surprised and happy that it was able to sell well enough to make a sequel viable.

There is a Reason Consoles Don’t Have Robots Anymore

R.O.B will one day rule this world. He is a machine made by man. Now he has gone beyond man. Bow your head to your new robot master. All hail the great ROB.

Most Anticipated in 2008: Wii

Certainly it would appear to be a sadly small list but I presume (or assume) we know only half of what’s actually coming out this year

Better Than Free Camel Toe

I don’t know if I agree with the title but I sure wouldn’t have paid full price for this.

Pieces of “Masterpieces” On Brawl

I really hope this leads to demos on the VC. They could possibly have demos on different game discs and just follow SSBB, but that seems pretty stupid. It would be better if they just had a channel for it like they’re supposed to have for the DS. I want their DS demo channel ASAP too, but hopefully I won’t need to play a demo for one certain game from the Advance Wars series, as I will have the full version.

Replying to Smash Bros to include classic Demos:

I really think they should have gone with full versions. But then that would hurt their VC sales, so no go there.

Rock Out With Your (what do you mean I can’t say that) Out

Am I the only person who likes the Rock Band guitar? I thought it was more responsive for star power, and I quickly got used to the quietness of the strum bar. Also, I was lucky enough to get a working one. And I found the Xbox 360 Guitar Hero 2 guitar to be rather uncomfortable to play, though it may be that the guitar I used had unusually stiff buttons.

Wait, So Electronic Arts are the Good Guys?

just goes to show you the “news” will tell you what they want you to hear, and not the truth. who knows what other stories they’ve reported besides video games that have been blantant lies.

Thanks for the heads up Wombat. I’m in the same boat - been avoiding the Rock Band bundle because of the poor quality of the stratocaster guitar so went with game only and GH3 guitars. Now I can look forward to finally getting the drums as well.

Replying to Rock out:

I prefer the Strat over the X-plorer as well. I love that it looks much less fisherprice and I never liked the clicky-clicky of the Guitar Hero series guitars. The effects switch, high-note buttons and huge, easy to press back/start are great additions too. If only it were compatible with GH2!
Congrats on your fast-approaching key to drum stardom Wombat. I look forward to a blog entry on you joining a rock band as drummer and going out on tour around Japan with CheapyD as your roadie.

yeah, I cannot wait for starcraft 2. Although the graphics are dated, the gameplay of the original still holds up and I still play it. I’m ready for another RTS to spend the next decade on.

Comment: "Wombat, all you had to to was pay an extra $30 and you could have gotten a nice new microphone and guitar(not so nice. Not only that, but you could have had your drums at launch instead of waiting."

Thanks for the contest.

Man I had this weird flu last week, it just lingered then hit me.
You get a bad cough too, but now im all better, but the cough just stays with you. Every now and then you feel like coughing up a lung.
Feel better wombat.
On the recent cagcast you didnt sound like you were sick at all, you must eat Apricot seeds.

Why halo thar, R.O.B :D
I’m not sure which commercial I prefer. I kind of like the spooky lightning, hahaha. I like how the speaker just “sneaks in” batteries not included and each sold separately. Though even if ever got the chance to see this as a kid, my parents never would’ve gotten it for me. Even Barbies were considered too expensive...and still are, really. Heh.

It’s not like the $80 price tag was unexpected, but I’m still waiting for the time when Harmonix can overcome its publisher’s desire to make 100% profit on plastic peripherals. They kept saying they wanted to include MIDI instrument support into Rock Band; it would have been nice for the few people who own MIDI drum kits to be able to use something a bit nicer, and more comfortable, than what they give you.
