World of Warcraft is out!!! Are you playing??

CAGiversary!
Just wanted to know how many of us are playing this game. I know I am excited to see what this game has in store. Post the type of character and where you are going to be playing.

It is sitting on my desk at work right now. Can not wait to get home and play it. I am thinking of making a Human Mage and an Undead Warlock not sure of the server yet, waiting on my Guild to determine that for me.

Edit: Stormreaver is where I will be playing.

Trying to convince my roomate to buy it because my comp sux... I think I'll get him. I saw some of the beta and it looked pretty good..I am excited...

oh man, after waiting for 4 hours to get this game, turns out i can't play it without a credit card or a prepaid game card. even though the first month is free. so even though i have the full game installed and ready to go, i have to wait til my mom gets home for her credit card. :(
Do u think they will ever take off the monthly fee?
Not unless Hell freezes over or the Chicago Cubs win the World Series!

I am not going to get it. Aside from the monthly fees that add up (after they make you pay $50 initially), it is the kind of game where you have to play it all the time to be worth the money. Unfortunately, I do not have the time for that, so I won't be getting it. I think it would be a good game though

I just picked up the Collectors Edition but sadly, I won't be playing until I finish my research paper. fucking sucks really. The wife took my game discs to ensure I don't crack out instead of doing my school work. :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

oh man, i finally got to play it, and it is awesome. i'd still be playing it, if it wasn't for the server shutting down (or rebooting?). i currently have a level 7 Undead Warlock.
Is it anything like warcraft 1 2&3 ?
No. It's a MMORPG, ala Everquest and Final Fantasy XI. It is NOT an RTS game.

i wanna play it but never did the beta. Im growing tied of ffxi and need something a little different to switch on and off from. I dont want to go back to eq if i dont have to lol

I feel your pain daphatty. I have to resist the siren call of Half Life 2 until I'm done writing my speech for tomorrow.

I want it, I want it, I want it. I'm currently debating getting rid of Netflix so I can afford it. Not sure if it's worth it or not tho...I'm conflicted.

ain't she a beauty?

I would get it but 1. i have a crappy comp. and 2. id get too addicted to it also 3. my brother. You know we'd just fight over who gets to play it and stuff.

oh man, is anyone actually playing this? there is such extreme lag on the pacific and mountain servers, EXTREME. i think i'll just take a nap and hopefully awaken to a less lag filled server.

This is a game I'd definitely play, but I can not justify $50 for the game and $15 a month. Thats insane. XBL doesn't cost that and you can play any number of games. People will pay it though, and they'll make a boatload of money, so more power to them. But I sure as hell am not paying that rediculous amount of money to play one single videogame.

I know what you are saying. I said the same thing myself. It completly went against what I felt was fair pricing. The beta tests changed my mind. This game really is that good.

Unfortunately my lvl 11 gnome mage was on server Dalaran, which has been down for 2 days now. I gave in and created another char yesterday on Lightning's Blade and now I'm up to lvl 14. Not sure which player is gonna be my main one, one is on a PvP server and one is PvE.

level 17 undead mage here, on stormrage.
name is mintaburst.

great game. worth every penny i spent in getting a new computer just for it.

Don't let other MMORPGs turn you off to World of Warcraft. This is the first MMORPG that I have seen that is not a massive timesink. Everything from tradeskills, to quests to death are all handled in a natural way that keeps you moving without all of the tedious grinding of other MMOs. Every class can solo, so if you only have 15 minutes to play, you can still work on a quest or trade skill. Since I have a fulltime job, wife, kids, etc., it is perfect for me. I think I will finally see some endgame content in a MMORPG.

Yep- have a Guild of over 20 active members so far- Server Silver Hand, Guild Name: The Imperium

Website:

In all reality this is going to help me spend less money on games by a lot- since I'm paying for 2 accounts, I don't feel like buying other games because when I do game, I'm playing WOW.

Oh- for those who are worried about their system specs- you can run the game at 800X600 with a Pentium 1 Ghz with a GeForce3 or older card.

It's a great game and has the feel of past warcraft games and doesnt suck like all other mmorpg i.e. ffxi, everquest

first mmorpg i've ever liked because it's actually fun got a 20 pladin and 24 warrior great game. My name is Maynard and on gala or something server in central if you are get ON!

i want to get it but i have to wait until ati releases the x700 xt (video card) so i can play it, right now i just have an integrated one so it doesnt work too well (tried it in the beta).

I want to play this game, but 15 a month is just too much. I got in on the Guild Wars trial/beta thingy, and I enjoyed that, so I'll probably just pick that game up instead.

i played that Guild Wars trial thing also, and trust me, Guild Wars ain't got nothing on World of Warcraft.

Yeah, I had originally planned to get mine from buy.com during the sale on the front page. I started to get curious after a while why my game was still listed as "on order" after 8 days, when a friend pointed this link out to me. http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/23/0426207&tid=209&tid=206

As it turns out, Vivendi clamped down on the number of Collector's Edition units that were shipping at the last second. I'm still hoping against hope that buy.com will get some more eventually.

i heard that there will be no more Collector's Edition shipped, but, that is just what i heard from Gamestop.

You know crack is highly addictive, and I've described some games as crack in the past. I think WoW is worse than crack. It's like superaddictive oxycontin.
