Okay, I was just wondering if somewhere I missed something. Its been what a year and a half two and I am thinking I must have missed some kinda news saying what the hell Vic is doing. Has anything been said/printed/ hell even a rumor at this point about what is going on with Gaijinworks or has it just fallen off the map?

Even now, the guy has been very active on Ebay selling signed Working Designs stuff.

But no, there hasnt been any news that I know of since he announced the formation of the new company.

You could always ask a question about one of his listings and then add a question about what he's doing these days.

I'm also curious about Gaijinworks. And if I was a rich-ass-gamer I'd probably buy one of those signed Lunar games. Kinda cool to have.

Looking at all those items makes me wonder what other game developers have hiding in their closets?

Knowing Vic signed it I'd wipe it off.

I'm actually surprised people didn't give him negative feedback just for the hell of it.

See now I have to add you to my friends list on XBL. That and the fact I suspect you like most of the same types of games I do. But where is "Culdcept Saga" in your tag?

I've been watching this for almost a year now. How the fuck does he have so much? Is he like Tupac? Did he forsee his company failing, and kept about 70% of the game stock so he could sell it all on ebay brand new for huge profits? Seriously. He said that it was in his closet. But he's been selling this crap for almost a year. What the hell.

I was just wondering the same think in regards to Gaijinworks, and still no sign of anything going on. And I have to say that Vic must have the worlds biggest freaking closet, because he is still posting crap he "found" in his closet. The sad thing is that all of his auctions claim that he won't autograph the items if the buyer does not want him to. I think that goes to show just how much people care about his name and status.

I actually heard from a friend (who works for a gaming site) that somewhere he recently heard Gaijinworks would be making an announcement soon (seems to be game related) after all this time.

It appears vireland is on CAG, but hasn't posted before (I've seen him lurk).

That shit isn't a closet. It's a fucking bunker with nothing but Working Designs games. He knew his company was going to shit, but he mass produced his games, let 30% of them out to the public and is now selling the rest on ebay for 100-200 per copy. It is a rather ingenious plan however as there's a lot of suckers buying his crap now.

I seriously doubt that Vic Ireland will ever get anywhere with a new company. Anything that he could possibly do, Atlus would probably snatch up before him.

Working Designs was a terrific company, but I don't think their business strategies could possibly hold up in this era.
So TMK, what you are saying is that someone farted in the woods and it sounded like Gaijinworks?
No, it was a real AIM conversion,
[00:20] friend: i saw gaijinworks is finally announcing something soon
[00:20] friend: it's only taken like 2 years heh
[00:20] Mana Knight: oh my
[00:20] Mana Knight: that's something
[00:20] Mana Knight: lol
[00:20] Mana Knight: yeah
[00:21] Mana Knight: I remember when the site first opened
then I did a search recently and found out what was going on.
Tingle's a no-go for America because it's too "controversial". I know. I tried to get it. I don't think it's a completely lost cause, but it will be an uphill battle for whomever is determined enough to get it. I got too busy and couldn't pursue it. . .
The first thing out of the chute isn't one of the MAIN things, but the good news is it should be publicly announced within a month or two for release before Summer '09.

You're wrong man. You see, what Vic Ireland does is follow Dragonball time. Everyone knows this.

I just wish he'd lower the BINs on his games. I'd love US copies of Shining Wisdom and Shining and the Holy Ark (whatever.) but not at ~100 a pop.

Wow, what a crazy coincidence. I was just last night thinking about whatever became of Gaijinworks (I checked out their site to see if there was anything there, and it's still just a placeholder page, of course). Literally, just a few hours ago.

Cosmic.

:(

I just lost all hope in that man. Obscurity is fine, if the game is good. But that game doesn't look like it is going to sell very well and to be fair doesn't look to be all that fun either.

I guess that is what we get for getting so used to the old company. *sigh*

Looks like a game I'd be interested in, to be honest. And I'm sure he'll get back into RPGs soon enough. The thing is, back when WD existed, there were a ton of great RPGs that weren't released over here. Now, if it's any good, a publisher will usually bring it over.
