MAKING WII TAGS
Adapted from ep2011's guide, with permission

So, you wanna show off your collection of Wii games? Want to find some other players to battle online? WiiTags make an efficient and classy way to show off your Wii games, and they're easy to build.

There are four key parts to a WiiTag: the background (called a 'template'), the picture that represents you (the 'userpic'), the game icons, and your information. Everything but your info can be found at the gallery. We'll start with this template image:

Since it's got transparent parts to it, make sure you right-click and save the image first, and that you're using The Gimp, Paint.net, or some other transparency-supporting program. Regular old Paint won't work (neither will copying the image from the gallery; you have to right-click and save it).

Next, go to the Userpics section and find the one you want. They're (mostly) sorted into categories. I'm feeling old-school, so we'll go with this:

Just copy and paste it into the image, centering it on large the open spot. In this example, there's a small gray border around the pic, but that'll vary from template to template.

So now we have this:

Next, we put in the games. There's no rules about these, and all the games are sorted by platform, and alphabetically. This week's icons are up in the first post, right before the game's name. All the icons are also in the gallery. Copy-paste the images into the slots, and soon you'll have something like this:

Almost done! We just need to put the info in. You don't have to put your Wii friend code in if you don't want, but not much sense to not put anything in, right? So let's get a name in. Those shaded areas are yours to use; any font will do. Experiment, see what looks right. Since this is a Pokemon template, I'm using a Pokemon font. Here's the end result:

No idea if it does for this version, though it did on the Dreamcast. Kinda sucks that three of the major games this week (Agatha Christie, Destroy All Humans, and Sega Bass Fishing) are ports. But... what can you do? Quality ports are worth attention, crappy ones aren't, that's all it comes down to.

I am kinda interested in Sega Bass Fishing seeing that the best fishing game I ever played to this day was Sega Marine Fishing for the DC and this uses the Wiimote.

As for the other games I am pretty meh. I would like to play a good WWII pilot game for the Wii though, the control method seems pretty sweet for that genre, but I haven't played a good WWII game except for Iron Aces for the DC.

First bit of news is up! jello, I'm afraid VC games follow a fairly irregular schedule; a game could come out in Europe and not hit any other region for months, or it could hit every region within two weeks. Lilboo's probably more of an expert on it, since he's running the Shop Channel thread.

Summary: hell if we know! Didn't break the Twilight Hack, though. Official story is some back-end updating, an it could be a precursor to a new channel, but we don't know anything for sure.

I am intrigued by Destroy all Humans. I didn't play the first two, but the concept sounds cool. I'm also a big fan of Pandemic, but it appears that they didn't develop this latest game. On top of that the game is out in stores but there aren't any reviews up, which doesn't bode well. Seems like if a publisher is confident about a game's quality you'll see reviews up weeks in advance (see God of War: Chains of Olympus).

I could've sworn that Nintendo had announced they were planning on releasing the original on VC the week before Brawl to take advantage of the hype for the game. I can't remember where I read that, so I don't know if that's actually the case, but it makes sense.

I've been wanting to give Bully a shot, but I'm going to hold out until I can catch a sale or clearance on it. I don't think I can afford (or play) two new games this week, and my $50 is already spoken for.
