Over the past few weeks I have been getting interviews out mah ass. Some with men, some with women. Not that it matters overall, but I am curious to see what other CAGs prefer when it comes to their boss'. Do you prefer to have male or female bosses and why?

Answer it based on your experience only. If you don't have any work experience, than I guess teachers can qualify too.

For me and for the *most part* I believe overall I have enjoyed women as bosses. Of course some are complete bitches, but that's anywhere. I've had some awesome male managers/bosses in my time too, but for the most part they just seem too aggressive/ arrogant or too much like jerk offs. The kind that seem to feel the need to overcompensate their masculinity..especially on other male workers but they turn around and treat the female workers a bit better.

So for my experience most of my female bosses have been pretty good. They seem to be easier to talk to and understand situations better then guys.

So what about you?

Voted on doesn't matter... but I confess I can't really be a good authority on such things as I'm the boss of my own company.:lol:

Doesn't matter to me. There are great male bosses such as Dante and Bowser and great female bosses such as The Boss and Sephiroth.

There's also annoying ones for both of course.

Really depends. I've had woman bosses that were bitches (aren't they all?) and others that weren't. Same thing with male bosses. I prefer a lady though, because if you're lucky, it's something to ogle at.

I put male. In my experience, which is somewhat extensive and greatly varied, male superiors tend to just be better leaders overall. This may ignite a gender-based wildfire, but I think men are designed to lead moreso than women, and my experience backs this up.

Men aren't "better designed" to lead, but some women let their personal vendettas prevent them from being the great leaders they can be.

I picked "Doesn't matter" because I've had equally good and bad experiences with both genders. Just as much as a female can be "weak" at leading or not as enforced, a man can be overly enforced or attempt to be overly aggressive. It can be backwards too, sometimes women are overly aggressive or overly assertive to try to make up for the generalizations people have about female leaders.

Where I work now, ironically being a retail store as a service technician, believe it or not my female manager is just as awesome as my male manager. The store manager is a major jerk though.
Women tend to be a little nicer than guys, in general.
The women CEOs I've dealt with would strongly disagree with your assertion.

I've had a lot of jobs and my experience has been mixed. I've had some good women bosses and some who are real assholes. Same thing with men.

I haven't had a female boss. A majority of my work experience is retail and I've noticed that most of the HR and Customer Service leads are female. I don't think it matters if the boss is male or female though. Unless you plan on sleeping your way to the top.
Men, women are always acting like they have something to prove.
Exactly. A woman will always try to prove that she can handle the job better than any man. Especially if she is running things after a male did. That makes em waaaaay more aggressive.

From personal experience I prefer females by far. My female bosses have always been much more empathetic and understanding of whatever issues I've had at work and have always been willing to talk it out or 'go the extra mile' to solve the problem.

I always run into problems with male bosses because the moment I perceive them as weak I do everything I can to undermine their authority. I don't know why but I goddamn relish it. The exception would be my previous boss (A Major in the Army National Guard) and my current boss who's just straight up direct with any work issues. I have no problems taking orders whatsoever as long as the boss deserves to be the boss.
I voted for "doesnt matter". I've had equally great/annoying male and female bosses. All depends on the person.
This man speaks the truth! I've had asshole bosses of both gender.

I prefer men, all of the men bosses I've had have been decent to great. The women, while some are good, vary more wildly in my experience.
