Twin Snakes in stock

I'm extremely tempted to order a copy and replace my Blockbuster one. The smart part of my brain is telling me the money is better invested in a disc dr. though.

Just know that disc doctors leave a weird looking pattern on the bottom of your discs.

That won't bother me if it plays. I received a copy of FFX through trade here and I'm several hours into it and it freezes up. The disc looks like it has steaks from edge to center ALL the way around and several light scratches throughout. I'll give the trader benefit of the doubt even though the trade was black label FFX for RE:Apocalypse BD. (Seemed unbalanced, but I didn't care).

I've been told that toothpaste helps scratches, but I might look into disc doctor before homemade remedies.

Back to the topic: When I picked up TS, I dumped my PS1 copy of MGS and I haven't played it yet (since I just replayed the series in Feb)... is it true that the enemy AI is tougher in TS than the original?

Y'know, some used media stores have industrial resurfacers that they don't mind letting you use. Sometimes they'll just do it for free if you ask, while others just ask for a couple bucks. The disc comes out looking brand new after a round with those babies. If you only have a couple scratched discs that you care about, consider that option.

This is what I'm doing. I'll sell or trade my disc only copy (well, it has cover artwork too...) after I get the new one. :) Also, please don't post to the main forum on this--I was going to give it a week or so before doing it so the people on the GC forum have a chance to get in before they go OOS or something due to hoarder/ebayer orders.

wonder how much I could resell this for? If Konomi keeps this in stock. I may order a second one when my first arrives.
wtf they charge me and i cnat reach checkout
Did you try using a paypal virtual card or a debit card by any chance? That happened to me but they didn't actually charge me, the charge went away after a few days, I then used a regular credit card and it went fine.

I should maybe grab one of these and sell my sealed black label copy.

EDIT: I decided to go for it...I placed an order...it was a pain to get it to go through but it did. Thanks OP.

Looks like you got one of the last copies, they're OOS now.

Mine cames yesterday, and it's black label. I sold my disc + cover art copy the same day. I didn't make money (but that wasn't my objective, getting a nice copy was).

PS: That's why I didn't want to post to the main deals forum right away. I knew these were going for a bit on half and amazon, but I didn't see anything like this on ebay.

Showing in stock now? I can't even believe that price on ebay went that high...I grabbed one of these thinking I could get a decent amount for my black label copy and I would just keep the PC copy (I don't care about the box art). I guess it's because MGS 4 is almost here.

huh. I ordered last Wednesday and still havent received a shipping notification yet. I thought it wouldve left within a few days of it being ordered.

As was noted, this is back in stock. Is this game suppose to be good? Is there any reason to get this instead of the Metal Gear Solid Essentials collection (PS2)?

Just wondering did you get an order notification? Like your order was successful? It took me a few tries to get it to go through but I already got a notification...although the shipping one hasn't come...so maybe it will take a little while.

i ordered on friday it'll be here tomorrow.

this was a big deal before the 'collection' was announced. if you have a chance to go for the colection it's probaby better. I only just got a PS2 and I'm probably not gonna get a collection. I got snakeeater a few years ago on the real cheap so I'll probably just live w/o MGS2.

This is the second time I've tried to order, only to find that they're OOS. :whistle2:?

The "buy now" button is still there but you can't proceed to checkout.

This is a remake of the first MGS. Some of the cutscenes were re-done, the graphics were given an overhaul, and there was probably some extras somewhere. Some MGS fans didn't like the new cutscenes (too "Matrix-like"), and others don't like the GC controls.

Is the MGS1 in the MGS Collection the original PS1 game? I thought I heard that it was, not the remade version that is Twin Snakes.

So IIRC above, the reason would be PS2/GC quality graphic for the original MGS.

To extend the question though: Is there any reason to get MGS: Collection if you have original copies? Is there anything extra. (Sorry to get kinda off topic...)

1. The MGS1 on the MGSC is the PS1 version, it's just now on one DVD-Rom.

2. No, if you own the original copies there is no reason to buy the collection. In fact, you're better off having the original version of MGS3 Subsistance, since the 2nd disc is missing from the collection.

MGS2: Substance has some extras that don't really affect the game. MGS3: Subsistence has a completely new camera system which changed the game dramatically.

Basically, if you really liked 3, it may be worth it to replay with the new camera. If you liked it how it was, you can probably be satisfied with what you got.

It turns out that they decided to include two black discs just like the original, so you'll need a PS1 memory card if you are a PS2 user.

Mine was a black label too. Maybe they did a reprint? I noticed that ebay is getting swarmed with these, which really stinks for me. I've had a few new copies for awhile now that I knew would go up in value and so I decided to start selling them before May's changes come into effect. Now everyone's selling them and bringing the value down. Great timing...
May's changes? What is this?
You been living under a rock? Changes like sellers won't be able to leave feedback anymore.

dude I have an ebay account and I didn't know that. I don't do much business thru it though. maybe I should read those periodic e-mails once in a while. if only so much of them weren't junk.

Just wait a while to list, MGS4 doesn't come out until June. The game isn't available anywhere else online and is no longer available from Konami.com, so I doubt there was a reprint.

seems like we all got black labels so i'm sure these were reprints but probably a limited run. obviously this game isn't going to show up again anywhere.. maybe GameQuest can beg the publisher and get some more . They've done it before.

Why would they reprint black labels?

I'm thinking this was old stock.

I did get a display copy new black label at Gamestop for $19.99 though.
where would they have been holding (for four years) a highly sought after game.
I would assume that they had just been in the Konami store and no one had bought them until now. The value of Twin Snakes only recently began to shoot up, so maybe no one cared about it being available for $28 shipped at an earlier time.
