OK I know I'm beyond late to the party but I've never played Pikmin. After playing Brawl I wanted to know what this Olimar character was all about, so I found a copy of Pikmin at my local GS.

I really like it! I'm not good at the whole strategy, troops thing but I do like it. The thing that is really killing me is the 30 day time limit. I know you don't have to have all the parts but it's still frustrating me to know I only have so many days to do it.

So I find out Pikmin 2 has no 30 day time limit. But I can't find a copy of it anywhere! I look on eBay and they're going for like $50. Is it a rare game now?
 
I believe with the popularity of Brawl, titles like Pikmin and Fire Emblem have gone way up in price. I actually recall a few months ago seeing Pikmin 2 at multiple Gamestops at a price of $17. I think with time it will eventually go back down in price, but in the meantime good luck finding a copy.
 
My gamestop has one for 39.99 but its game only, which is BS! But I saw that they spiked up in price about a month ago, and there is a tread around here talking about the price, and if it will go down.
 
I have a copy of Pikmin 2 that is game and case only. The game is in excellent condition but the front cover has a tiny, tiny tear in the corner (I can show you a picture if you like). I'll sell it for $40 shipped for anyone interested. It does have all the inserts, just not the manual. The game wasn't from Gamestop either. It was from one of my friends and I assure you it's in great over-all condition. Again, I can show pictures if you like :)

By the way it's a black label version, not a Player's Choice version ^_^

I appreciate the offer but that's a bit more than I was looking to pay lol I managed to get Pikmin for 12.99 at GS so that's a bit more what I was looking for lol
 
You won't find Pikmin 2 cheap unless you have a Blockbuster near you that still has it. It's $14.99 used, so $20 if you rent and keep it.
 
I say just buy it. Pikmin 2 is definitely worth ~$50. You're likely to get more joy out of it than some $50 new release.
 
I am in the same boat as you are. I'd love to have both games, but I'm not paying ebay prices for them, which means I'll probably never play them.
 
I think I've had my fill of Pikmin 1 and have gotten as far as I think I will lol I'd still like to try 2

I think I may trade in 1 and get the extra 20% at GS to finish the 9.99 I owe for Mario Kart
 
Do you guys happen to know if there is a bug in Pikmin 1? I have the game and a 1019 memory card. Every time I try to play the game , it says the memory card is corrupted. It then says it repaired the card but when I go to load the game it shows random days (it shows day 47 when Im only on Day 3) and when I select one the game starts over :(. I really want to play the game but its kinda difficult since I can't save. BTW the card works on all other games.
 
I think I got mine for 20 something used at gamestop using a 25% off cupon. Definitly worth it although I haven't gotten far, been too busy with Paper Mario TTYD. All it's missing is a manual.
 
I'm playing it right now.. and damn, it's so much tougher than the first one. It's amazing how much you have to change you strategy due to the few new enemies and new types of Pikmin. I still like it though and it's nice not having the 30 day limit.

I'm sorta wondering how long the prices will stay high. I picked it up for $30 at GS and wouldn't mind selling it for what it's going for now on Ebay ($60+).
