CAGiversary!
Hey everybody! I decided to make this thread because Segasonic01 mentioned that somebody should make a Flea Market Thread. I was thinking about that too, and there isn't a Flea Market thread yet, so I decided to make one. You can post what good deals you have found at flea markets, and I guess since it is in bragging rights, you can brag about what you got.

I have alway kinda thought that Flea-Market Finds fell under the Garagesale thread. but I don't realy care. Unless we would combine the Pawnshop/Fleamarket/Garagesale/ect... under a non-Retail finds thread.

well that said, here was my fleamarket find of the day. I got it at a fleamarket/street sale thing in a town full of rednecks.... the whole street waas full of rednecks selling stuff so i didnt feel like walking far from my car of goodies. I got this for only $5...my second copy so far thsi year!!

About the only thing I've found decent at flea markets in the past year or so, was a Sega brand arcade stick for the Genesis for $4. It has smaller white turbo buttons over the top of the 3 large sized face buttons.

I don't have a pic of it at the moment though.

Damn, I've been waiting for someone to start one of these. Thanks, OP!

All cart only NES & SNES for $10:
Blaster Master
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Bionic Commando
Faxanadu
Friday the 13th
Clash At Demonhead
Pro Wrestling
Dick Tracy
Mighty Final Fight
Vegas Dream
Megaman X
Sim City

Resident Evil 3 (Dremacast, disc only)-$3
Assassin's Creed-$10
Jericho-$10
Kane & Lynch-$10
Obscure (Ps2, disc only)-$2

total spent-$45.

Here's some Ps1 games I found for 5 dollars a piece (black labeled):

Tomb Raider
Asteroids
Frogger
Tekken
Tekken 2
WWF Smackdown
Ridge Racer 4

My flea market sucks... the game sellers are WAYYYY overpriced... even on worthless crap...

There was a seller there about 3 years ago who bought out a closed game store stock and HAD good deals...

Going to my big flea market tomorrow. I know of one dedicated game seller, but he is very overpriced. Has a pretty good selection though. Doubt I will find much because everyone had first dibs on Friday and Saturday. Will let everyone know if I come up with anything.

I got these at the Flea Market today. All these Ps3 games were $20.00

Madden 08
Fight Night Round 3
Unreal Tournament III
The Simpsons Game
Ridge Racer 7
Dynasty Warriors 6
Resistance Fall of Man
Motor Storm
Turok
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Im assuming you mean $20 each. Looks like someone hit up a Target clearance and made about 5-10 bucks on your per game ;)

Although Drakes at $20 is pretty nice. Was it used or new? Either way a nice one.

Saw Super Mario RPG today for $15 & passed. It was so faded that you could barely make out what game it was. I already found 2 copies for $11 total this year anyways.

Edit: Also passed on Lufia 2 complete & BoF2 complete for $45 each.

The only one that wasn't sealed was The Simpsons game, it had a couple prints on it but nothing major. Yeah they were all 20 a piece. I already had Unreal Tournament III, I pretty much bought it for a friend of mine who is overly obsessed with the game.

I've been thinking about going back to the flea market and really going through the game bins this time, there's 10 stalls that sell video games. I was so overwhelmed by the size of the place last time, I didn't get to look at much because I kept getting lost. Only thing I got was New Super Mario DS for $20 (going rate now, but it was good then).

We have a flea market here that I have pillaged so regulary its scary. I told Segasonic about it and he is having the same luck as I think his finds have also been from it. In the last few months my flea finds have been

Super Smash Bros Melee / Super Mario Sunshine / Zelda Collectors Edition - $5 total
Castlevanie 1 / Milon's Secret Castle (both complete) / Shinobi NES Tengen - $5 total
Sega Genesis Model 1 with a Sega CD Model 1 - $5 total
Alundra 1 complete - $5
Mega Turrican Cart only - $2
Marvel vs Capcom DC w/ case - no manual - $3
Adventure Island 2 Cart only - $2

And a bunch others
Find of the year at a Flea so far is a tie between a Disc Only Suikoden 2 that I talked down to $2 (from $5) and the New & Sealed Elder Scrolls 2 Daggerfall for $1 (worth over $100)

^ Nice I should have spent more time at the flea market i was at yesterday....makes me sad now to think that i passed a whole street of vendors :(

I went to one yesterday and almost everything was overpriced - FF7 (Black Label) $120, Dino Crisis $20, complete Illusion of Gaia $60, and PE guide $16, etc. I did manage to get a Tactics Ogre guide (PS1) for $10 and it was pretty good shape.

ballsy :) I would've bought that in a second without the haggle.

Picked up a copy of Pikmin in a Hollywood Video case. It was listed at $7, CIF'd $5. Told him it was a little scratched up, but he didn't bite, said he could do $6. Took it for that.

Some Flea Market vendors make me laugh, who goes to a flea market with $120 cash on them? around here people going to a fleamarket are looking for $1 and $2 crap.

Exactly. It's like dude, who wants to pay $7 for your shit condition cart-only copy of Mario World? Seriously, I feel kinda bad for these vendors because they pay to rent the space and you know they prolly only make a $20 profit per day. And after gas is it really worth it?
where do you guys find flea markets ? i rarely find any in pa or is there a site where i can search for one lol
I don't know where you are in PA but I live north of Philly in the suburbs and can think of five locations off the top of my head outside the city that have weekly flea markets. Six if Philadelphia Park in Bensalem still has them on Fridays but I think since they added the casino they may have stopped having that one. To be honest you'll probably find the best deals at yard sales. Hell, when I was moving I sold a box with about 45 Dreamcast titles that I either had copies of or didn't see myself playing again for $50. Guy got some good ones too like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Unreal Tournament, Shenmue, and other assorted hits. Still have my MvC and MvC 2 for it though.
where do you guys find flea markets ? i rarely find any in pa or is there a site where i can search for one lol
I don't know where you are in PA, but I go to the one in Hazen.

And really, I don't find much, game-wise, though occasionally I find something good (REmake for $10, like, a year after release, for example. Most recently (This month) I picked up SNK vs Capcom: Cardfighters DS for 5.)

Usually, I would buy the Suikoden 2 like nothing, however a few things happened.

1) I am not a hoarder, only reason I have multiple copies of games (like 4x Earthbounds, 3x Nocturnes) is because I low ball like crazy for add'l copies and if its accepted I buy it. I have a prob that once I have a double of a game I like, I don't sell it because I want a backup copy. I've cracked/broke too many games in moves / kids / accidents that I keep most doubles/triples of games I rarely see.

2) I believe this particular vendor wouldn't haggle on a game a few months prior with me, so I gave him a few extra $bucks$ I normally wouldn't have for a game.

3) I only had $2 on me. I went to Flea Market with $3 that day, for the other buck I got 3 other disc only games at another dealer, which we Dreamcast 3rd Strike (heavily scratched), PSOne Raiden Project, and another PSOne game that I can't recall.

All in all that flea market I keep on scoring at. Last time I got a cart only Knuckles Chaotix for $2 and a complete Sega CD Flashback for $2 along with a few other games. The funny thing is no one else scores at that flea market when I send them there.

The one that I sent Segasonic too, now that one is hit or miss, but when you hit, you hit big time. Like this

That was $3-$4 a game.

So, I have a swap meet near my house, but there's an entrance fee. So I don't waste my money, is there any particular day and time that's recommended? Weekends, or weekdays?

Might & Magic is hard to find, I take it? If so, then DAMN, cause I passed up a copy at a SA in NY last Friday for like $1-2. It was cart only, mind you, so I didn't feel so bad leaving it. I was expecting to go back there today to pick up the rest of the tv dvd boxsets I had to leave last week when I ran outta $$$, but unfortunately I was not needed.

It sucks too, since there's also a Kmart about 3 miles away from the place I went to last week and I figured I'd take a slow stroll down there too since that Kmart was a goldmine the last time I was there.

Atari 2600 "junior" version (complete, looks like new)-$10
Conker's Bad Fur Day-$3
Mario All-Stars-$5
Spiderman/Venom Separation Anxiety-$4

I feel like I overpaid on everything except Conker but I have never seen/played an Atari in real life so I was excited to find one. Now can anyone recommend some games? The Mario & Spider-man I actually wanna play.

I'm going to hit up the Flea Market tomorrow...i always go on Sundays, which probably screws me over on things that get sold Friday/Saturday....

Saturday around 9 is the magical time, my friend.

I'm going to go tomorrow if i get up early enough, It is a one day a month FleaMarket that is on teh first sunday of every month.
Your mom is the magical time.

Wait, what.
No, my time with your mom was magical....and if you are wondering how that is gamign related she was dressed up like princess peach.....

What?
Saturday around 9 is the magical time, my friend.
It really depends on the Flea though. I get to my local one about 8am on Sundays.

Games for the Atari to play:

Indiana Jones: Raiders Of The Lost Ark
The Smurfs
Pitfall

That's about it, I would say. Or rather, that's the ones I can remember being REALLY fun.

I had some luck today:

Saturn.jpg

Found these two. Unfortunately, Panzer Dragoon only had discs 1 and 4.

panzerdiscs.jpg

1 and 4 only. I need to know where the best place is to get single discs for games like this.

Also, Burning Rangers didn't have the game disc inside. But it did have this:
shining.jpg

SHINING FORCE 3!!

Again, where can you find case-only and disc-only deals online? I found some Panzer Dragoon discs-only auctions on eBay for $100 Buy-It-Now. Ripoff!!

Also got these SNES games:

snescarts.jpg

Act Raiser 2 & Harley's Humongous Adventure

All told, I spent around $20.00 today ($6.00 each for the Saturn half-games and 8 for both SNES games

I would be so stoked to find that right now... I just discovered my copies of Super Mario RPG and Zelda: Link to the Past are MIA. (Also can't find Super Mario Land for the Gameboy or Super Puzzle Fighter for GBA, but I'm less concerned with those.)

Funny you should mention Raiders. I was gonna go pick it up from a pawn monday for $3 after seeing the AVGN's review.

Today I about didnt get up, but I finaly did and got the the flea Market abotu 7:10, for my trouble I got.

Table 1 - asking $12 CIF'd $10.
Super Metroid(SNES)
Super Castlevania IV(SNES)
Mario Is Missing(SNES)

Table 2 - asking $20 CIF'd $15.
Taiko Drum Master complete with drum($10)
Metal Gear Solid teh Twin Snakes(SEALED!!!)($5)

This guy had a ton of old K-Mart Clearance items even cheaper than K-Marts clearance prices,
some still wrapped, said it was a friends who was getting out of gaming.

There were a few more tables with games but most of them were either high priced($12 apiece for old Atari stuff!!?) or just your average common games.

I about got Battletoads in Battlemaniacs for the SNES but wasnt sure if it was worth $5.

Got there about eleven, just got back. Picked up:

-Books-

Stephen King - Firestarter (.75)
Stephen King & Peter Straub - The Talisman (.75)
Stephen King - Needful Things (1.00)
Stephen King - The Shining, The Tommyknockers (.75)
Stephen King - Dolores Clairbone Hardcover (1.00)
Drew Carey - Dirty Jokes and Beer: Stories of the Unrefined (.50, the lady through in a 1998 TV Guide with Carey on the cover as well)

-Misc.-

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Comic Book (1.00)
Fold-up Laundry Hamper (1.00)

-DVDS-

Borat (5.00)
Wedding Crashers (5.00)
The Butterfly Effect (5.00)

-Games-

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent 360, complete except for instruction manual (10.00)
The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past/Four Swords GBA cart only (5.00)
Wario Land 4 GBA Complete (5.00)

And, this one I thought was pretty good:

Patapon PSP, Mint complete + sealed (8.00)

I also found a ton of SNES/NES/Original GB games that were way overpriced, so I passed.

So does CIF work in flea markets as well?
i went to one like a week ago and saw some xbox games, but they wanted $10 for each...
and last year i saw a Gameboy Advance with 2 games and a case for like $50
so as you can tell most WV yokels dont know how to properly price video games

I always CIF. most Flea Market vendors

a. Are willing to part with an item for much less than they have the price if there arent many people because tey know that will get a little cash in their pockets.

b. Some vendors are just towns people that would rather rent a area to have a garagesale than put on e on in their yard(less liability issues.)
You can CIF at the Flea, but it's harder.
it is harder, I usualy CIF 1/2 price or less at Garage sales, and 2/3 or more at Flea Markets. usualy I grab three games and ask for a discount.

such as

3 $5 games and ask for a price of $10.

I tried to CIF $2 for a $6 Mario RPG cart last saturday and the guy got real confused so i got out a $5 and he let me have it.

My flea market has few vendors who speak English, so I'm often trying to deal with their kids. Nothing like trying to haggle with someone less than half your age.

Its hard to bargain with people at flea markets because most of them don't know english.
They all come up from Nogales, Mexico on saturday morning and get stuff at yard sales, then sell it there the next day. >.>
I tried to do a 2 for $5 on a couple of $3 games and the dude refused. Seriously, what an ass.
Ya some people are weird. That is why I prefer Garage Sales over Flea Markets.

For some reason I can't find Saturn Games here at Garage Sales, Flea Markets of Thrift stores, was it that unpopular?

I missed the whole saturn era, I was a Nintendo fanboy untill I saw what the Dreamcast could do!! lol.
it is harder, I usualy CIF 1/2 price or less at Garage sales
does that ever work?
