Features

The Fable II Pub Games include three exciting casino-style games set in the world of Lionhead's award-winning Fable® series. The games include Fortune's Tower (a pyramid card game in which each row can make or break your fortunes), Keystone (a game of dice and chance with numerous betting options), and Spinnerbox (where luck is everything). When you get the retail version of Fable II, you can transfer gold and unique items that you've won in these pub games to your characters in the world of Albion.


Gold transfer to Fable II: Earn gold playing the Pub Games weeks before the Fable II release, and then transfer the gold into the world of Albion for a head start.
In-game unlockables: The Pub Games allow you to unlock game variants based on the amount your play regardless of wins or losses.
Bust out options: You have several options when you bust out. Participate in free tournaments paying off gold for time mirroring FII jobs, or utilize the credit system based on meta game's star rating.
Tournaments: Win 15 unique Fable II items in in the Pub Games via tournaments. You can even unlock new Fable II concept art, a first taste of Fable II for the hardcore.

If I were to say pre-order this, then oh I dunno, cancel the pre-order after I got the code for the XBLA game. Would I get a full refund?

I'm planning on pre-ordering tomorrow, picking the code up next week, and then canceling the pre-order in a month or so. I figure, worse case, they ask me to move the pre-order over to something else or i lose my $5...beats paying $10 for the games. Plus, i would rather have these on my HDD than on the disc, that way i can just turn the 360 on and play the arcade games, instead of booting the game up to do so.

*EDIT: i am still buying the game, just not sure where from yet (i want to get the best deal).
 
Is it certain that we can't install the pub games onto our HDD from the disc? That's the only reason i'm preordering is so that i can get the code and have them on my HDD.
 
Im hoping CC has the displays out so I can reserve it and save 10 percent..

odds are theyll be doing a 10 dollar giftcard with it as well..
 
Just tried entering my code and it said it was invalid, yet the game(s) are up on live right now...

EDIT: bah, it's only 4:45-ish AM, i still have about 15 minutes before it's 2AM PST.
 
Well that is great. Then it isn't just mine. I just emailed [email protected] to try and get another code. Maybe they will end me one and I will have one for trade. Chances are it will not work also. So maybe in a few hours they will get their shit togeather and this code will work.
 
The codes most likely haven't all be activated yet. Idiots didn't assume people would download it the second it showed up on the Marketplace. I bet we have to wait until like 6:00 PM before they flip the switch and the codes work.

I'm still waiting for Circuit Shitty to e-mail mine. I didn't have to login to place my preorder, and they didnt' ask for an e-mail address. Yet somehow they must have linked my shipping info to an existing account because I got an order confirmation e-mail.
 
Yep, Amazon pre-order here--code doesn't work. I was going to email them about it, but now that you guys are having the same issue, I'm not too worried.

I say wait until tonight--if by 8:00 or so EST it's still borken, complain. But I don't think anyone's code has worked yet.
 
Just got my code from Amazon, though from reading your posts I think I'll wait till Noon before I try to activate it.
 
I tried my Amazon code an hour ago and it was invalid. I'm glad to see everyone is having the issue and not just me. Hopefully it will be working by the time I get home from work. Although, to be honest, I'm not too pumped to really get the game. Tonight will be a Bionic Commando night.
 
So can't I basically just preorder from Amazon, get the code, and cancel? Would that work? I'm probably going to get the game anyways, but I want to wait to find the best deal.

a review for it came up already a 6.5 from gamespot and ign. thats not good but i could give a flying fuck wat the score says i want money for my character i cant wait

Good luck with that. It kinda seems impossible to me. The game...not that good. Oh, and the code worked for me.

if you didnt like the fable then why did you pre order it?
 
hi guys im from the uk where the codes arent available so i was wondering if i order fable 2 from amazon.com will they take the money from my card as soon as i order it or do they charge the card when they ship the game?
i already have the order set up but i chose to set the payment option as a check/postal order just incase they do charge the card as i cant afford to get the money taken from my card right now? will i still get the code straight away or will i only get the code when i send in a check/postal order?

I got mine from a in-store card that I had to pick up. Reading majornelson's blog it seems the in-store cards are working. Email codes don't seem to be.

Major also commented in his blog to say that he has been told this afternoon all codes should work.

Not a problem,

Before I left for work I played on of the games (tower something can't remember the name off hand) Anyways it's alot of fun put complete and pure luck I suggest going through the tutorials for each game trust me!

thats what I'm thinking. I dont see how people on the leaderboards have the scores they do. If anyone actually bought this they just wasted 10 bucks or 800 points. I know I will be skiping theis games in Fable II unless they make me play them.

How do you view the leaderboards? From xbox.com?
 
I'm glad this came out so far a head of Fable 2. Gives me a chance to actually build up some money. Then again, with my gambling skills, I'll have a loan shark after me as soon as I boot up Fable 2 for the first time. :)

After each round in the tower game you can choose to deal again or bank and choose to pay off any debt to the bank (as they will cover you in loses) or cash out if you have a good hand.

Once again definatly use the tutorials they will help immensely!
 
i just wish there was skill involved in these games. they are almost all blind luck and since i don't win real money, where's the fun in that? it looks like this game unlocks different things for your fable 2 character. am i right in thinking that?
 
Yeah, overall, i probably won't be playing these much, if at all. It's kind of killed my interest in the game as well. I mean, here we were led to believe we could make some good money before the game comes out, but there literally is no skill involved and 9 times out of 10, the computer is against you.
