I think someone just got lazy with their copying and pasting and searching and replacing.

In your download .

steam says it right there. It's digital content. Usually it's some sort of Right Click on the game name to get access to the manual, and the sound track is put in a folder in the downloaded game files. (thats what they did with the orange box soundtrack you get when you bought AudioSurf)

"The significant changes featured in the enhanced version are over 200 new animations, additional NPC models and recoloring of generic NPC models as well as monsters, vastly expanded and corrected dialogues in translated versions, improved stability, and load times reduced by roughly 80%. In addition all bugs are said to be fixed and the game manual completely overhauled."

Plus there's the MOD tool that comes with it.

I already got the game but i'm getting it for the cloth map, making of dvd's, et al. Not as bad as it sounds. I've already convinced a friend of mine to buy my old copy for $20.

I'll be getting a review copy next week. I never played the original game, and I'm looking forward to this one.

What they should do is not listen to Atari and just cut the content out, without even checking w/ the ESRB on the Uncut Version of the game. What CDPR should just submit Witcher: EE Uncut to the ESRB, on their own. If that gets approved for M-rating in the USA, then there will be no cut version of the game.

Thats not how getting an ESRB rating functions. A lot of people seem to have the misconception that they play test the game and view all the content. Far from it. The developer actually submits a sheet with check boxes and/or a brief description of what the game contains to the ESRB. The ESRB issues a rating based off that supplied feedback. It opperates very much like a standardized test.

yeah which never defines the product, only generalizes it.

One image, scene and it's to them that it happens throughout the game.

Anyways, I should double check, I thought it was shipping on the 11th... wonder when mine did.

doesn't ship till 16th... ah.. and I should get it by that friday...

whole weekend to enjoy!

I don't know why having it uncut would make it so much more better...

Because it's how the developers intended the game to be shown. It's only because of our=USA idiotic puritanical ideas of sexuality that we get censorship of games.

Also, you can get this for 26.99 from Stardock.com, if you also apply the Survey-2008 code at checkout.

That's dirt cheap for this product.

But, eh -- that's gonna be a long as hell download; since it'll be around 13 GB total and all.

Of course, in the notes, it notes that you'll need 35 GB free of HD space for "download and installation temporary file" storage to download it and install it and all.

There are un-censor patches all over the place for this game. Do the devs a favor and support them in the U.S. then download the ~24mb patch for the game if you really have to see some video game titties.

Alternatively, you could go on this thing called the internet where the porn grows on trees and flows in the rivers.

yep because a few sex cards and a dryad is totally altering the story that the developers are rolling in their future graves for this move..

I repeat, it's a few cards, and 1 graphical topless dryad.

The nipples kill people... And read below to the other person's quote.

That's funny, but let me explain this.

you can get Witcher here for cheaper at amazon for only 24.49

http://www.amazon.co...21404463&sr=8-1

AND

When the FREE enhancement patch comes out, you can download and upgrade your copy for FREE

That way you can still have a physical copy somewhere and don't have to deal with 35gb download.

Agree, if a little nipple action is so "un-intended" from the deveoplers....

then those people need to learn POLISH because from the polish script you'll have a more "complete" version, since it was hacked due to translation issues.

So go get your polish titties on and buy from here...

this a pretty good deal for the box version, but i think i'll snag it at steam for $36. i'm running out of room to keep storing all the boxes i get and the hard copy of the goodies really isn't that important to me.

honestly, every time i get the collector's version i always think "oh cool! this is so awesome!" and then all that stuff sits in the box piled under other collector's edition boxes. also, trying to build my steam library for convenience. go steam!

Yeah I think the best part of this all are the 2 CDs full of music.

I think that music is better than anything else additional ... better than a plushie or a phone charm.

ha! you got that right. or a 'bonus skin' or something else like that. the story could be pretty cool too. but just the changes to the game plus the additional game content for me would warrant the $36 (on steam).

Well, I've gone ahead and put an order down. Will probably chug on my rig at my LCDs native resolution, but I like rewarding good developers. Any one know if the nasty copy protection of the original release is going to rear its head in the EE?

Does anybody know if the nudity patch works on the EE version yet? If it just replaces textures or something like that, I don't see why it wouldn't.

Even if it doesn't, I'm sure a new patch will be out soon anyway. :D

After you sleep with a woman in the game, you're given a picture of her. It's an illustration (and they're pretty bad ass, even without the nudity...i don't think I ever got around to getting the patch.) So all the patch does is replace those cards--it probably works on the EE.

In any case this game is awesome, but wow is it long and dense. You really get a shitload of game for your money.

the original used TAGES ....

but don't know about the EE.

In an article with the developers, they said they were going to "remove obsolete copy protection" ....

but that could mean an updated version and not just removal.

Honestly with what the EE is, I wouldn't mind it without.

but TAGES isn't that bad... but I would wish they would but in a notice or display saying that TAGES is going to Fuck up your game.... you won't notice till you're in it... which would be lame.

If you're card can run say Half Life 2 on max settings smoothly you should be able to run this on at least medium settings pretty well.

I was contemplating taking advantage of the Impulse survey deal, but I'd rather have hard copies of all the discs and books and that's worth a few bucks to me.

Just wondering, any word on what the Atari publish version will use in terms of DRM or copy protection compared to the CD PROJEKTpublish international version?

I'm not buying a censored version of the game. It isn't because of what is censored, it is because I don't support censorship and will not support censorship with my money. I believe that how I spend my money has far more impact on the world than how I vote (yes I do vote anyway).

Lots of people get worked up over DRM, but I see censorship as more evil than that.

If I buy the American censored version it sends a message that I appreciate that the game was censored for my close minded benefit. I won't be doing that.

Well it's not that we get a choice in getting it Censored or not... unlike music labels, they release 2... one for MA and one not.

As it stands, it doesn't matter, because you'll still be supporting the company by purchasing from another country.

Look to GoGamer to get some UK versions a couple months from now... probably for the same price, but shipping will kill it.

I would probably also voice your opinion on the forums. Your money alone won't speak volumes since you're still going to buy a version. It would be better to raise concern on their forums that actively read it themselves, that is if you care more about the issue. Writing to congressman/senator/ESRB also would be better.

Anyways, the amount of it is not much. very tiny, plenty of patches that will reverse it.

I don't see it as badly as others that are censored.

As since it doesn't impact the game what-so-ever, gladly giving them money to make a sequel.

And I waited long enough to get this game... !

i wonder if mine will ship today. Amazon said I would get it on the 19th...

Poo...

Lost my bid at the last minute. I tried finding the validity of it but could not find any info about it. Oh well, it would have been a nice collectors item - and I probably would not had opened it anyway, costing me more to buy another copy hehe.

bummer, though more than a month away?! that they release a version, so what's holding up to a Sept release date? gesh.

oh and huge :applause:

Q: How much is shipping to Canada? (Ottawa, ON, CANADA K1N 9J7) ThanksSep-14-08A: Unfortunately I only ship via FedEx and it cost $62 to ship there.

That's the best way to get bids, and NOT ship worldwide..... +$62 to Canada?! what is that ... next day.. next HOUR?!

did you order through Amazon?

Apparently it should be released today... and my order says Sept 19th for delivery, which I thought was the date Amazon would ship it.

If that's so, I may not get it till Monday... :|

But that's weird because Europe's Witcher isn't shipping/out till Sept 19th also.

I know this will be 39.99 in store.... so not willing to get $3 cheaper?
