I just bought a gamecube recently for 30 dollars and a couple games, one of them being Geist :applause: and i was wondering does this console have a inside save system like xbox, or do i have to buy memory packs to save game data?

Also, are they cheap?

You need to buy memory cards... I think it's $20 new (if they still sell it new) for the 1000 block one, which is more than enough.

Geist sucks. Nintendo really needed to go through that game some more and get the glitches out of it. Otherwise it would be a fine game.

Buy a Nintendo-brand card. The 3rd party ones are notorious for getting corrupted.

I only tested out the game, so far so good. Would of been nice if they add a multiplayer bot mode.

Geist is a fine game as long as you don't get stuck in in a glitch. I was flying around and got stuck on some stairs. That game could have been a very fine game and instead it was just... meh. I guess sucks is a little harsh but I was expecting more.

However i got it for $10 new, so great deal. If you like crazy Japanese games find Chibi Robo, wonderful game. I might have the name a little messed up. :)

For $30 you can't go wrong with a GameCube.

definitely can't!

as for memory, I NEVER had a problem with 3rd party cards. Sometimes they get corrupted but you have to take it out and stick it back in or something and it works again or you have to keep trying until it works but it's never permanent and considering you save quite a bit, it's worth it. I heard some people having problems because they drop the cards but if you keep it safe and secure I doubt you will have problems.

I've had problems with 3rd party cards, and it wasn't recoverable. You're much better off buying a used Nintendo brand card from ebay if you want to save money.

Stick with Nintendo branded memory cards, you'll thank us when you don't lose your save files that you poured hours of your life into.

I dunno where you are finding the 1019 (or whatever) cards new for $20, but they are still being sold for like $30-35 retail.

I recently got into Gamecube after having a retro revival of GBA games. Bought two of the Japanese white controllers and a 251 card from play asia. The 251 was $19 new. Comes in a very cute little cardboard box!

I checked out Geist, but the reviews screaming undeveloped and buggy turned me off.
