I'm pretty excited for this animal crossing the holidays make a comeback which is nice I read on Amazon.com information on this animal crossing it has this.. "Play at different times of the year to experience different activities, holidays and seasons. And when visiting a friend in another country, experience the holidays native to their culture."

That sounds very interesting if you can do that also if you buy both animal crossing city folk and wii speak at amazon you get it for $75.48 instead of $79.98 not a bad deal I guess if you intend to get both items, but I'm sure other retailers should have specials with AC:CF and wii speak when it comes out..

I plan to order both animal crossing and the wiispeak on amazon plus the $10 towards a game purchase is nice too I can't wait to play this new animal crossing only 21 days to go it's too bad I don't have wifi right now, but I hope to have it by early 2009 when I do I'll be playing brawl and AC:CF with friends like crazy. :bouncy:

They really dropped the ball by not having any motion controls, I mean you can make it optional so those who like playing with more traditional controls can turn it off.

I know some people liked playing with the stylus in Wild World, while others preferred the d-pad. I just like having the option.

^ I agree. You'd think they'd have you walk over to a tree equipped with an Axe, hold A+B and swing to chop it down.

Or something along those lines.
Still,

looks alright but yeah, it would be alot better with motion control

Something tells me WiiSpeak is going to be a worthless addon. *waits for a third party microphone that isn't $30*

More like $10.00, why would you buy it separately when you would be getting Animal Crossing anyway? Just pay $60.00 and get the bundle.

I cannot find any concrete info that the bundle actually exists aside from that rumor a little while ago.

Here you go:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/915/915864p1.html

IGN: Sounds good, but you're also packing WiiSpeak with Animal Crossing, right?
Cammie Dunaway: We are going to do a limited edition bundle with Animal Crossing that will run for $59.99 and will come out on the 16th as well.

Doomed is somewhat right. I couldn't find a bundle on Amazon, and you know those ninjas do how they do.

You could buy both together for $75, which Amazon proudly declared allowed you to save 4.98!

Well I heard rumors that it is going to be exclusive to certain retailers , most likely Gamestop since they mentioned it during a manger conference.

It is strange though that we can't even pre-order it yet, the release date isn't that far away. I wonder how limited this bundle really is going to be?

I'll get this game and enjoy it, but part of me wishes there was a little more to this game. Maybe a more robust city section.

I'm just hoping I can pick this up at TRU, as I have a placeholder set aside for the bundle. Not sure what I will do if the bundle is exclusive to GameStop...

If this Limited edition is $59.99 I hope I'll be able to get it and the release is only a few weeks away I hope there's something announced soon. :bouncy:

There's a theatre in the city for facial expressions I think I wish they included the animal crossing anime that was released in Japan in this as a option to watch once you get all the facial expressions..

So, in the gamecube version you could visit a friends town by bringing your memory card.
What if I go over my friends house? I can't do anything? I can only visit friends town's via WFC?

I like the idea of this a lot, but I simply can't justify it, knowing that I'll just get sick of it in about a year like I did with Wild World.
I like the idea of this a lot, but I simply can't justify it, knowing that I'll just get sick of it in about a year like I did with Wild World.
But what other game can keep you engaged for a year? Besides an MMO, I certainly can't think of any. My wife and I played the first AC for nearly a year (playing a few days every week) and I played AC:WW for around 6 months pretty actively before losing interest.

If you are into this style of game, I can't think of many games that give you the bang for your buck that AC does.

That isn't saying that they couldn't have beefed up the feature set or substantially changed the gameplay, I certainly think they should have, but this iteration will sell like gangbusters just like the rest and I believe it is worth the money.

I think if you own a DS you can use it to put your character into it via download play and then take it to friends house to play also no need for the AC:WW game for it too I think that's how it works..

A year of playtime for $50 is pretty good by my standards. I'm already burnt out on Brawl and it hasn't been a year and I'm more than satisfied from my purchase. Of course, I've never played any Animal Crossing games before, so all the better for me.

On another note, I've seen several locations where the Wii Speak bundle was announced for $59.99 but like others have yet to see anyone offering it up for pre-sale. I'm hoping this isn't a GameStop exclusive...
I think if you own a DS you can use it to put your character into it via download play and then take it to friends house to play also no need for the AC:WW game for it too I think that's how it works..
I wish they would make more use of the memory on the Wiimote for these sort of things. Each town could have a Visitor Center or something.

My roommate is getting this, so I don't need to worry about purchasing it myself. I just don't know if I should play AC again, since like many people have said, you'd get sick of it after a while, and I'm still kinda sick of the GC version. It's been like what, 4 years?

So, is there anything actually game-changing in that long-list? (Only skimmed)

I don't mind the same old AC, but I'm not paying for it again. It seems like this really only has voice chat going for it, and I could care less about that.

Heck I'd even be willing to pay for it if it had updated graphics, but nope...not even that. But it's ok, this isn't for me...but new players and AC addicts should enjoy it.
But what other game can keep you engaged for a year?
Ocarina of Time's replays have kept me busy on and off for 7. Link's Awakening for 10. Sonic (pick one) for at least 5, Dungeon Keeper II (make a p2p to play my boyfriend) for 8, and Kirby's Adventure for 13. I have at least 10 other games that have been faithful friends for a LONG ASS TIME. *pets her Intellivision, inherited from her grandmother*

When I get games, I fully intend to keep them and play the living hell out of them (or at least until they fall apart, then I download).

But if you mean new content constantly, then you've got a point. But that's why I have free MMOs.

And people keep comparing it to the GameCube version. I got sick of that in about 3 weeks and gave it back to my roommate. Harvest Moon lasted about 2 days.

It all depends on your tastes. Funny how you mentioned free mmos, all of them bore me within minutes.

I think as gamers some of us have this tendency to finish a game as fast as possible and disover everything ASAP. AC can't be played in this manner. I don't play it every day, or even every week, but the times I do play are fun because I get to see how the little town is adjusting.

I couldn't play it every day though, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. Basically, avoid the temptation to discover everything in one sitting and you'll like this game more.

I'm not getting this game though. Looks like more of the same, so instead I will play old AC again.

Resist the urge to have a three hour fishing marathon. You'll love it more just playing a little every time you turn it on.

I loved Wild World, but once the second year rolled around, I'd already gotten all the awesome stuff, and everyone else I was playing and trading with also quit the game.

This.

I was probably the only one in my base camp of friends who was playing this after everyone else had gotten rid of it, because I wanted to see if there was anything else to get. I was mistaken, and that was the end of my 4-month AC run.

Well yeah, that was the same for me. But playing one game for about a year straight is fucking impressive for me. Well worth the $35.00 or whatever I paid for it when it came out.

I suspect City Folk will be the same despite them pretty much half-assing it.

Hey gals,

:whistle2:s
It's at $69.99 instead of $59.99.. :wall:

I have a $50 giftcard at GS, and I really, really hope GS gets this bundle @ $60!

Also, what the hell? I really never looked at the WiiSpeak thing..and it looks like the same exact thing the 360 uses for the Scene It controllers...but it's NOT a headset? You just.. plug it in and..speak out loud?

I wonder how well it'll pick up...

I have no faith in Gamestop.

The second I post that, another comment says they called and were told they would be sold separately only.

Nintendo, you are making both of these things, ok? MAKING. Can you seriously not get a solid price point across the board? Especially when you "announced" a siddy dolla entry?

For fuck's sake. NO ONE IS THIS BAD AT THIS SORT OF THING.

Except maybe Sony with LBP.

At $60 there was a slim chance, but at $70, hell no. I'm not paying $20 extra for the privilege to use my douchey teenager voice online.

Well the Wii Speak will fucking suck for me, I have a fan on high all day and I'm not turning it off.

It's 95 in late October bitchez.

If the bundle is $50, and confirmed to be $50, I'll get it. Otherwise...I might skip Animal Crossing entirely.

I agree that would've been nice to be able to use the wii mote for this since not every wii owner has a DS and plus I rather use the wiimote for transporting things like this.. sadly it's too late I wish they gave you two options for bringing you AC:CF character to other friends towns locally. =\

I'll still get this since I have the GC and DS animal crossings can't wait to play it, but that $70 bundle is kinda high I was hoping $50 or $60 price range..

the thing i do not like about this is the wii speak. Now why can't i just have a headset i don't want people hearing everything going on in the room and what if your in a party and playing with a friend......
And! this looks just like the DS one so I'm probably now going to even bother with this game.

Yeah! Without a headset, you'll look like a total lamewad.

So does anyone know what, exactly, the online features will be? I've poked around for previews and such, but I haven't seen much. Is it pretty much going to be like WW? Or are they expanding on things?

I'm looking forward to spending a nice, relaxing holiday with this... it's been so long since I played the original or WW, I'm about due for another fix.
Basically the same, the fish shadow is the same for everyone...
I can't tell if you are saying the fish thing is new or not, since that's not how the DS version handled it.

But yes - overall it sounds like AC:WW+, which in and of itself was AC+.

So really we're at AC++.

After this, the series needs a total overhaul. Really it needed it now but there's no point belaboring that since that's clearly not the case.
So wait. I HAVE A VERY UPSETTING question.

:whistle2:(

How big will the save block be?

:whistle2:(
I'm guessing pretty hefty considering the GC version took an entire 50 block memory card.

There was Dōbutsu no Mori for N64 (only in Japan), followed by Dōbutsu no Mori Plus (only in Japan), then that was translated into Animal Crossing that we all know and love, then Nintendo of Japan loved all the new features in the translation and used them in another game, Dōbutsu no Mori e-Plus. Note that even e-Plus has features not in the US version, for example visiting the store after hours and visiting Resetti. There was an excellent article about all of the features not found in Animal Crossing, but a search on "The Google" yeilds nothing. :whistle2:( That followed by Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk leaves us at Animal Crossing +++++, with Dōbutsu no Mori being the first game.

I don't get what I'm so wrong about. Unless you are implying I didn't know there was an N64 version, which I did. Hence why the GC version is sort of like an AC+ version, and then the DS version is basically just a slight extension of that.

You think I'm using the plus signs to denote pure number, when I'm using it to talk about features present in each successful build. Further, from an American standpoint, there are three titles in the series, which is more what I'm getting at. And finally, since this version looks identical to all previous versions, which is just ridiculous.
