Newport Center Mall, NJ - KB Toys is having a 30% off everything. That includes videogames too.

I'd imagine this is storewide, I'll check NYC tomorrow but I figure I'd get the word out if you haven't already tapped that resource when it was buy 2 get 1 free.

This location still has a bunch of psp games, ps2, and ds. They have a limited number of Wii and 360, and not very many PS3.

Most games and items are already marked down, then take off an additional 30%.

off topic: Halo 3 Plasma rifle is $20 after 30% off...normall that puppy is $99.

The Washington, PA KB Toys store at the Crown Center Mall is also doing this sale. There were quite a few games left on Sunday afternoon.
Cool. That puts everything in the store at about regular price...
Completely true! They've seriously got some jacked up pricing on their games...

And yes, they're going out of business. I love it - they were offering gift cards as incentive at the Burlington, MA store! They're closing in January!!!

Ya 10 thousand jobs are going to be cut but no one can afford pricey toys at a mall store so it is ok.

TOY INDUSTRY BAILOUT!

they have alot of shovelware on their library of games. the website has better selection though its crazy expensive most the time.

My sister works at KB, and they used to get a 30% employee discount off of anything in the store, including games and systems. After corporate saw how much expensive merchandise they were buying, the killed their employee discount on anything game related.

Never even really got to use my sister's discount, I would have been nice to score a PS3 for $260... Ah well at least here store isn't one of the ones that's closing.

it eventually will since KB has gone bankrupt

I love the fact they opened a "holiday" store in a mall near me and if the store did well they would keep it open past the holidays. Guess that isn't going to happen.

20 dollars after 30% savings but reg price is 99.00 am i missing something? that does not add up.

High value items like a PS3 are unlikely to go that way. Hell they could return them to Sony for credit and get more then they could selling it discounted.

I find it hard to believe that KayBee would even HAVE any PS3's anyway, when mine closed down in April they had -just- started carrying shovelware again and the only game systems they were touching were force bundled PS2's and GBA systems. My manger said only the most high volume stores would carry Wiis and DS lites and that was it, hell the complete failure to carry DS and Wii's helped lead to them going under even faster we had about 500 parents stop in looking for Wii's, controllers, etc and even the super shitty "Great Value" Wii shovelware sold fast.

No retailer makes any sort of profit from gaming systems so unless it was a overpriced force bundled PS3, I honestly can't see Kay-Bee touching it, video games are one reason they ended up goint Chapter 11 back in 2004.

how crap the store is has already been said, but for what it's worth the KB in franklin mills mall, NE philly is also doing this.

They've reduced the prices on a lot of the more expensive toys and call it Super Value. So things like that halo rifle is a good find if you're into collecting stuff like that. Otherwise shoppers are more than likely going to spend $60 on something else than a light up toy.

If you have kids that are just happy to get games no matter if they are good or bad, the $14.99 - $19.99 games at 30% is a pretty good deal.

How would there ever be a toy industry bailout when all the toys are made in China?

Not doubting you, but where did you find this out, I need to let my sister know, but would definitely like some concrete evidence.

Thanks

This sale is crap. I saw this sale at my local this weekend. They actually did have a few good games (Rune Factory DS, the SNK Collections, to name a few) but the 30% off was on the original retail price.
Maybe now some Congo action figures will be 5 dollars.
That is funny! I seriously think my store still has those.

Not only are the prices of video games not good, but even the toy prices aren't that great after supposedly 30% off. Many of toys have "original" prices that are higher then other stores such as walmart and kmart, so after 30% off they are just in line with those stores prices, except that all sales are final at kb toys - no returns, no gift receipts.

Found a KB in Lawrenceville, GA. They had the original Sly Cooper for 20 bucks, less 40%.

I lol'd. Then left.
Big up to a fellow Jersey CAG. I'm about 10 minutes from Newport.
Spreading the love to my CAGs in drrty jersey...even though I'm in Brooklyn.

sure it may not be the best find for CAGs but there's usually some gems in places like these, I just don't have the time to give a detailed list of their prices and inventory.

Went to KB earlier in the week when the sale reached 40%, and can confirm that not too much was there.

I was able to snag:

All PS2 games

Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked 11.98
Tourist Trophy 11.98
Matrix Path of Neo 5.98
Tomb Raider Legend 5.98

In a way, I was kinda miffed to getting these because they can't be taken back and I got much better deals at Blockbuster and Radio Shack. I wouldn't bother to go back, to be honest.

I've been hearing about them closing but never bothered to check. I picked up the following, which were 40% off the sale prices:

Falling Stars (PS2) - $8.99
Taito Legends 2 (PS2) - $5.99

Falling Stars is the value priced, simplified RPG by Agetec. It's aimed towards younger gamers but has potential. The shipwrecks talked about it on CAG Foreplay when it came out a few months ago. GS didn't end up stocking it and I had no clue where to look for it til I walked into KB this past Friday.

I picked up Harvest Moon DS yesterday for $12. The Kay Bee near me has everything marked down 40%. The store was half empty already.

Chris

I grabbed a Fatal Fury Vol. 2 Anthology ($8.99 after discount) for my friend for Xmas, because after showing him Arcana Heart and gathering that he liked the game, he added it to his fucking wishlist on Amazon after I had already bought it for him and some broad gave it to him first. >=( It was from Amazon'com's black friday sale, so I couldn't really return it, meaning its going into my little sealed games timecapsule.

I did find some Kung Fu Panda mini-plushies for my girlfriend (wtf, every store has viper and I managed to find one Po at 3 stores). But apparently, Master Viper is way rare and goes for $12-15 on eBay, so I'm going to have to double back for the stack of them they had at one store.

I also couldn't resist the Mighty Muggs for $7.79 each. I found Thing, Wolverine, and, most importantly, Doc Ock. I have a soft spot for wonky superhero memorabilia in boxes that are displayable.

Oh, and let me confirm 40% off as of Tuesday. Maybe we'll get another price drop on Christmas Eve.

Stopped by the KB in my mall today. Everything was 50% off today. Picked up Earth Defense Force for $10 and Princess Debut for $15.

The sale is 40% off here, there are a few decent toys left but most of the brand name stuff has been cleaned out. Video games were a joke as there was nothing left but overpriced crap, it would have to be 90% off for me to get anything worthwhile out of it, because I can get almost any game for less than KB prices on ebay.

40% off here in West Covina, CA. ANd signage saying 5 days left.. so I don't forsee them here past next monday. And the selection sucked, I think Madden08 for GameCube or Virtual Tennis for XBox 360 were the only titles of note...

No Congo figures though... :p

If you need gifts for little kids like 2-5 years old they don't have bad stuff, and with the sale its a bit less overpriced than buying retail priced generic toys at Toys R Us or target. Someone I was shopping with yesterday bought quite a few decent generic toy gifts for a 2 1/2 year old, at that age they will play with anything you give them but you will have a hard time shopping there for older kids who want specific items from a list.

Are point cards being discounted - if so does anyone know how much? I see on their site that a $20 MS Point Card (1600 points) sells for $25, so the 30% brings it in line with Amazon. If it gets cheaper I may bite to stock up points - but as I don't NEED them and I can get them delivered for the same price... I'm not going to the mall for no reason.

Taunton, MA was at 60% off today, sign said last 10 days. Only about 5-10 games left, from what I remember some :360: summer olympic game (not beijing, had cartoon characters on the front), :ps2: sly cooper, :ps2: lumines plus, and some other ps2 and gba games. I scored :ps2: Ar Tonelico (pre-owned, but complete) for $15 and :ps2: Tokobot Plus (pre-owned, complete) for $3 something. Of noteable toys there were some Guitar Hero and Mortal Kombat figures left.

I'm hoping they go to 60% plus an extra 50% (for a total of 80% off) like they did at another in my area that closed a week and a half ago. They had no games left though. I might re-buy Feel The Magic for $4.00 if it does get to that price.

Some of the stuff is still overpriced even with the discount. The Guitar Hero Air Guitar is $29.99 less 60% off it is $12, but Target had it for $9.98 and is probably $4.98 by now.

Crazy how so many stores are closing. In the mall area we have KB almost closed, Circuit City closing, Office Depot closing and Linens n Things just closed.

Our KB is at 70-90% off but honestly anything in there is not worth buying. For the junk that is left the prices are not cheap enough, and the only thing that was actually 90% off were a pile of about 6 beat up books, everything else was 70% off. We have 3 days left and I went yesterday so I am guessing they are closing it before the first of the month.

I have really high standards when it comes to cheapness for toys, I won't buy unless its maybe $2-3 (unless I REALLY want it, which is rare), most things left were 5$ or over and that is too much for me. If its not cheap enough then I don't buy.

This is mainly due to the sheer amount of toys I see at yard sales during the summer that do not sell, and most of the time if there is a liquidation sale in my area that stuff tends to show up at people's yard sales for lower prices than what was originally charged at the liquidation, so if I want the stuff I will get it then. Sometimes people even give away toys here at their yard sale, or I can get a whole bag for a dollar.

The only things that might have been worth it were the coded neopets plushies for around 3$ and there was a super mario mushroom in the plush bin but I thought it was poor quality so I didn't get it. I am not sure whats up with those coded plushies though I haven't done any research but since they are on clearance everywhere but I am thinking that the codes might have expired or aren't valid on the site anymore. There must be a reason they are on clearance everywhere because they were super popular in the summer, you couldn't find one for any price if you wanted to, now no one wants them. They aren't selling either. No games left at this store. I was looking for a donation for the toys for tots bin for next year (hey now is the time to get your cheap toys) but I didn't see anything that would be good and I don't like to give crappy toys that aren't fun.
